Hi. We did our first day of school today. It went well.

Then we made our annual 'first day of school cookies'. Miss M, ever the helper got into the lazy susan and ..............

Yep, she dumped a BIG bottle of cooking oil ALL over my kitchen floor.

So I put her in the sink and started rinsing her with water while I began to clean up the floor. She stood up and dumped my African violet in too. As if greasy wasn't bad enough, she was muddy too!

Whatta mess! The floor's still a bit like an ice rink, Dawn is kinda takin' the 'grease out of my way', but not completely. The baby's kinda greasy even after a couple of latherings with Dawn.....

I need a nap. Or else all the chocolate chip cookies I just made!

Sounds like your focus was science for the day. Oil and water don't mix, do they?

She's so cute!! Sorry you had a bit of a mess, but I think it is great that you took some photos. That means you have a sense of humor about it all!

Cookies sound good!! :)

Awwww - but she looks like she's having so much fun!

What a doll - a greasy doll, but a doll nonetheless :)

I love her first day of school outfit. And that you thought to take pics.
In the second one, she has this look like, "Uh, Mom, I know I'm beautiful but I'm kinda dirty here, can you put that camera away?"

Enjoy your cookies -- you've earned 'em!

Oh good grief!

Cookies first I think, then a nap. In that order! You can always follow up the nap w/ another dose of cookies as needed.

Yes. I'm wondering as well, "Hmmmmmm, the camera was just within reach?" It's wonderful you had it easily acessible! Way to snap those pics. :)

Definitely a good story for a few years from now. For today: lots of cookies and an early bed time. ;)

LOL Neve! I was thinking "Shoot figures it's an outfit I bought NEW instead of a garage sale find!" :D

LOL, you need to put the kids in their rooms, beds, and crib and have both the cookies AND the nap!

Wow, she is really adorable, even when mischievous. :P Thanks for sharing the pics; some day you'll look back on all of this and laugh at the "fond" memories.

Angela, Meredith is such a doll! You're such a good photographer. Today's events sound similar to a story my parents tell of the time I got into the baby oil at 12 months and emptied the bottle all over the carpeted bedroom floor. Thank God for linoleum is all I have to say! BTW-love your countertops (they look very similar to mine).
