At the check-up today, the OB said I am 2-3 cm dilated. I'm also GBS+. We are planning to take DS to the pool all weekend as this will likely be our last hurrah (if I make it that long.)

Is it safe for me to swim?

I would think that as long as your water hasn't broken it shouldn't be a problem for you to swim. I'm no expert though. If you're worried about it, you can always call and ask a nurse. Have fun!

I've been 2 centimeters for 3 weeks now, and have been swimming a bunch. Not gbs+, but wouldn't think that would make a difference-

I *believe* that if your water breaks it becomes an issue. Call your ob just to be sure, but I think that's when the risk of infection can happen. I was told that if/when my water broke w/ Jake NOT to take a bath, swim or delay calling them and coming in. Until then, they weren't too concerned what I did.

As long as your water hasn't broken, go for it! It's so wonderful to swim when pregnant and be able to have the water holding you up.

You can swim. Believing that it's not okay to be in water even after your water breaks is sort of common OB lore, but there's no medical evidence that it's harmful in the slightest. Babies do just fine when they're born in water, after all. Go ahead and swim. :)
