Tyler is just so unhappy 24/7. Between a combination of the reflux and colic it is just almost too much to handle. We have tried everything on the market for the colic (Mylacon, gripe water, white noise, swaddeling) without any luck.

A lady who works with DH made up a home remedy that contains Fennel, Chamomile and Aniz De Estrella. I am familiar with the Fennel and Chamomile but can't find information on the Aniz De Estrella. Jacob gave it to him last night (without me knowing) and I think it actually helped, but before I give it to him again I want to find out exactly what the Aniz De Estrella is and if there are any risks. I can't come up with anything through my searches so I thought maybe someone here might know about it. It really did seem to help him out and I like the idea of us being able to make it without all of the other added fillers in most medications.

I am excited and think that maybe we have found our "liquid gold" but I won't give it to him without knowing exactly what it is.

TIA! :)

I don't know what Aniz de Estrella is, but I venture to guess you can call a homeopathic pharmacy and find out. FYI Fennel and Chamomile are what is commonly used in Gripe Water. I'm surprised it didn't work for you, since this seemed to work. What brand did you use? I didn't think the Baby Bliss version worked very well if that's the one you used. I like the one from India the best.

We used Baby's Bliss, Colic-Ease, and Gentle Naturals Tummy Soother(Cheapest and best working of the 3). Since Fennel and Chamomile is a common ingredient I am thinking that the Aniz de Estrella is the magic ingredient. Perhaps it is the fact that we are brewing this ourselves and it is fresh. I don't even know where she got these at. Jacob just came home with ziploc bags of these dried ingredients and instructions on how to make it (along with a batch already made up).
