I don't feel like I am so behind with the movies.. I have seen some of the ones you listed! woohoo!

1. Meet the Fockers - personally would not recommend.
2. Napolean Dynamite - funny
3. Motorcycle Diaries - beautiful, wish I could have seen it on the big screen as the vistas are amazing.
4. Eternal Sunshine.. - Recommend
5. I Heart Huckabees - Recommend (weird but interesting)
6. Sideways - Recommend. It didn't live up to the hype but if you have not read the hype, you will be pleasantly surprised.

Today we got in our Netflix
1. Whale Rider
2. National Treasure - for mindless Saturday Night entertainment.

I would recommend:
1. Hitch - funny

In our queue we have:
1. Hotel Rwanda
2. Finding Neverland
3. Dirty pretty things
4. Run Lola Run
5. Upside of Anger (though Keanu makes me want to scratch the chalkboard)
6. Election
7. Matchstick Men
8. Dude, Where is my car (this better be good or I will email a beating to whoever suggested it!!)
9. Saved
10. House of Sand and Fog
11. Shaun of the Dead

We have so many in our queue and then they come and sit here for months and months (even before the baby they sat here for months and months!).

DH actually sent "Ray" back because we had it for three months and I never watched it! I still would like to see it.

Right now we have:

I Heart Huckabees
Old School (DH wanted to see this again!)

We just saw:
In Good Company (kind of a chick flick, but DH did like it too)

On the queue:
Most of the movies are either mine or his, not too many for both, so I guess that doesn't help much
Lots of chick flicks for me
Lots of action movies for him
How about Oceans Twelve?
The Incredibles?
Ray (but that's older, you may have already seen it)

Sorry for any typos--typing with kiddo onboard.

Eileen, what did you think of Mean Girls? And Dr. Strangelove is one of my all time favourite movies!
Also, how did you like Weeping Camel?

We rarely have time to see a full movie so instead I have been getting all the Sopranos seasons sent in order. I never had HBO when it started and then I wanted to get into it but couldn't pick it up midway through. In between all the whackings I have some comedy DVDs: Eddie Izzard's "Dressed to Kill" and Chris Rock's "Bring the Pain." I am excited to see what is so funny about "Cake? Or Death?

Okay, let me see. Currently at home we have Psycho (mine) and Southlander: Diary of A Desparate Musician (DH's). Coming up soon we have:
Bride and Prejudice
Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (I've been trying to watch some of those classics that I've never seen)
Duplex
Some Yo Yo Ma thing that DH added
The Gods Must be Crazy
Dr. Strangelove
Coal Miner's Daughter (mine, obviously!)
Ray:Bonus Material (because I love bonus material)
House of Flying Daggers
Six Feet Under, Season 1
Born Into Brothels
Kinsey
Finding Neverland
House of Flying Daggers
and (blushing furiously) 13 Going on 30, only because I consider Jennifer Garner my secret celebrity preggo buddy

We have a few more random things on there as well. We usually have about 30 in our queue at any one time, and rearrange frequently. Sometimes it will take months for something to float to the top. I try to check new releases and the Netflix Top 100 once a week to see if I'm missing any current stuff.

ETA: We usually have lots of TV stuff on our queue, I think we just sent back some Curb Your Enthusiasm, so you might not miss cable at all!

I really enjoyed Weeping Camel, but it was more like a National Geographic show, which makes sense since National Geographic had a part in it. In any case, it was well done and I enjoyed watching it.

Mean Girls was much funnier than I expected it to be. And there were actually scenes where I teared up. So I would definitely recommend that one. Even DH liked it. I have to watch Dr. Strangelove again, but it was pretty funny. It took me a while to figure out that Peter Sellers played three different parts; what a great actor! :)

In reference to another poster, DH and I actually watched all the episodes of 24 via netflix, which was good because we could not have waited a week between episodes!

I'm trying to hit all of the oldies starring people like Cary Grant...I've really enjoyed them all! The regular video store doesn't carry many so I've gotten to see a lot more since going to the online service.

I loved House of Sand and Fog...fantastic, albeit a bit sad. Hotel Rwanda lived up to its Oscar nod. Matchstick Men is actually really good in a thought-provoking way. Finding Neverland was wonderful, sad, and inspiring (love Johnny Depp)....but they didn't take the plot where I thought it was going ala the trailers. I think you will love them all.

I've got Starz On Demand (through cable) and will order Dirty Pretty Things tomorrow and let you know if it's any good.

Ok, I am a dork. and I was a product of the 80s and 90s...

I have Degrassi Junior High, Season 3 in my queue! Yes, that means I have already re-watched 1 and 2! And I have Degrassi the Next Generation, where the star is Spike's daughter!!! Geek-dom for me.

Here is the rest of it, pasted right in from the list:

Iron Jawed Angels
NR Drama

Agatha Christie's Poirot: Five Little Pigs
NR Thrillers

The Big Easy
R Thrillers

Donnie Darko: Director's Cut
R Independent

Garden State (AGAIN!!)
R Comedy

Ali
R Drama

Agatha Christie's Poirot: Sad Cypress
NR Thrillers

While I am at it, I just want to say I love Garden State and think they stole parts of my love affair with my husband...I swear that two scenes are converstations we had nearly verbatim. Creepy! And very sweet...that is why we are renting it again. My husband actually CRIED.

Ours is pretty focused on kids movies right now... getting ready to breastfeed and entertain Carson--though he only lasts through about a third of a movie. BTW, I hate that I have so many movies for him, but I'm just worried about rainy days, etc.

Currently, we have Sideways and In Good Company (which DS has started twice and fallen asleep both times.) Just returned Dinosaur--way to scary, we didn't get through scene 1 (I meant to order Land Before Time.)

What does it man when they have a movie, cover displayed and description and everything, but it says it's not available. And has no date? I am so upset, movie I really wanted to see in theatres somehow escaped me, and I thought they had it.

I mean they have user reviews there (multiple ones) and everything, so people are getting this movie *somewhere*. Any thoughts? MANY thanks.

PS. No, my local Blockbuster doesn't have it :(

Just wanted to say - Mr. and Mrs. Iyer is an excellent movie. I recommend it to all my friends. Quite a change from the usual Bollywood potboilers (though I *love* those too). Hope you like it!
I've seen Real women have curves and liked it too.
Happy watching,

We've seen all 3 of these movies recently, and I loved Weeping Camel and Mean Girls, but didn't enjoy Dr. Strangelove as much as the first time around (in high school.)

Weeping Camel was like LLL for camels, says my dh, since it's about trying to establish a good nursing relationship between the baby camel and its mother. Good eye candy, no real dialogue. Nora watched the whole thing! Mean Girls was much better than I expected. I am a huge Tina Fey fan though!

I think it means the movie isn't out on DVD yet. Does it say "Unknown"? For example, I have Mr and Mrs Smith in my queue but it's not out on DVD yet. When they get a release date, they list it next to the movie. Now it says Nov 2005.

It does say "unknown"--but there are reviews, from many many people! Did they all see it in theatres you think?? Thanks so much!

Yes, people are crazy. There are review for Season 6 of Sopranos and it hasn't even AIRED on HBO! So yes, I bet they just saw it in the theatres and are reviewing it already.
