Let's see, I'm either 9 weeks, 1 day (by LMP) or exactly 9 weeks (by ultrasound measurement earlier this week) and I am feeling good! Fatigue set in about a week and a half ago, but it's not constant. If you saw my post late last week in the Bitching Post, you'll know that the hormones do have me getting pretty emotional at times. ;)

I had my first appointment last Wednesday and DH and I got to see our new little one, complete with a strong heartbeat. :) I'll try to embed a pic below. So, my due date is either April Fools' Day (yikes!) or the next day. The nurse practitioner who handles first visits at my OB's office said that since Sean was so huge (10 pounds, 5.5 ounces), I will probably be scheduled for delivery two weeks before my due date, so this will be a March baby, maybe a St. Patrick's Day baby. I had a C/S with Sean since he was just too big for me to deliver on my own, but I'm not sure how things will go this time around. I'll talk with my OB about VBAC and repeat C/S as things progress.

We told family several weeks ago and a few of my very close friends know, but not all of them. I'm not planning to tell people in my office for another couple of weeks.

Thanks again for the good wishes!

Thanks, Lucy!

And thanks for the reminder about sign-ups! I was afraid we had missed it already. We'll probably sign up Sean for another swim class. We did it last fall, but not in the spring. He's gotten tubes since then and his ENT recommends ear plugs, but that's a battle that I get tired of fighting with Sean. Since not all ENTs recommend the plugs these days, I may play it fast and loose and let Sean go without. I don't expect him to be submerged much, if at all. So maybe I will see you in line! :)

Jerilyn -

FWIW, when I had a tube in my ear just a couple years ago, my ENT said that swimming was no problem, as long as I didn't submerge too deeply. In fact, he recommended that I get a little water in my ear while swimming or showering to help keep the "guck" off the tube. I had the "T" type tube, which might be more prone to "guck" than the "button" that's usually used. I did swim a few times, and had no problems at all.

Jerilyn,
Congrats on your new budle of joy!

If it makes you feel better I'm an April Fools baby and although I often have to *proove* it's my b-day I can't complain.

I can't believe the amount of time I spent as a child wedging those @%@$#%&*@! earplugs into my ears, and stressing about the slightest bit of water entering them, and now they say it's okay!

There are no constants in the medical field.
