Which family pic?

We took three today, and one is getting framed and hung next to the family pic we took the day DS joined us...which one of these three will look best next to the original?

The third one. I like that you can see everyone's faces clearly and that you are in the same "positions" as the original brand new baby picture. BTW - Beautiful family!

I agree with the PP on the third one...although I have to say that I just adore Nathan's down-turned lashes, pinchable cheeks and that wild hair in pic 2! You have such a gorgeous family - whatever you choose, you can't go wrong! Thanks for sharing!

I just wanted to chime in and say that I am SO jealous of "the original". You looked THAT good after just having a baby???

Thanks :) It was a trick of the flourescent lights, I think...

Actually, DS was born 12 hours before that pic got taken, I was hopped up on Percoset at the time, and he was a scheduled C/S (breech) so I never had to anything but lie there, so I don't deserve praise...I am so jealous of Mamas who get to look like cave women, and long to be a cave woman myself, as soon as possible :)

I didn't think of the positions aspect of the pics - that's a good point. I just wish DH was smiling instead of making mean faces at the camera...

I like the 2nd one, too, but DH didn't take off his sunglasses for that one. I was so bummed when I saw that - what was he thinking?

So nice to be able to put a face with your name -- what a BEAUTIFUL family!!! I agree with PPs on #3 -- I just like that you can see your little one's face a bit more -- what a cutie he is!

Love seeing the photos! I vote for number 3 for your adorable son's face, you and husband look great too. And, c-section or not, you look fab for just having a baby. My picture 12 hours after a c-section wasn't that good!

I love both pictures number 2 & 3 but am leaning more towards the second one. It's more casual and natural but I've always liked candid shots :)

they're all fine, fun photos! i see the reasons for #3 but... #2 just has the most authentic energy. it feels like a moment caught rather than a moment waiting for the shutter to click.

You original pic is amazing! I, too looked like a cave woman after A was born as everyone here got to see (reminder to self-don't let DH post unedited pics...)

You all look fabulous in all the pictures! What a beautiful family you have!

I vote for #2. It just looks so natural to me. Also, I wear sunglasses all the time outside (even on cloudy days) since I'm sensitive to light. I'd say that if that's typical for your husband, then it's fine to have a picture w/ him wearing them since that's the "real" him.

I like all three, but I would choose no. 3 since you don't care for your husband wearing sunglasses. Granted DS is making a face, but sometimes with husbands we cannot have everything :-).

By the way, have you thought about using all three in one of those collage type of frames? I don't know if the question is clear. I am talking about those frames that have slots for 3 photos. I think you can even buy the mat and use whatever frame you like. The frames of the original and the new could be the same or similar if you are trying to keep it harmonious. Just a thought.

They are all great, but I like the third one. Is that a chicken finger? ;) If so, you will always remember how much he likes them!

The first one cuts off part of your DH's face, and I think I'm more drawn to the scenery than the beautiful family.

The 2nd pic would be my 2nd choice.

Another vote for # 2. The sunglasses don't bother me, and I agree with those who've described the pic as more "authentic"; to me, it's the most interesting!. I also wouldn't worry about the poses being the same in # 3 as in the original pic. :) That said, # 3 would be great as well, but more traditional.

I am going to say the first one with the water cropped out.

If cropping is not an option than number two, because you look fabulous in it and all of them your DH is either distorted, hidden or making a confused face. I like how you all look very happy in it too, not posed.

I think I'm going to do a collage with all 3 pics...they all capture something different, you know? So that's what I'll do - and it'll be the first pic we hang up in our new apartment, which we will be in by October 1 - yay!
