Can I use basil in this "recipe"?

I was going to cook some pork chops on top the stove in a cherry sauce we have. My friend gave me some fresh basil. Can I add that in? I found one recipe online where cherry and basil and pork were all involved, but I am not sure if this is a good idea.

I think it would work. Basil goes well with fruit.
If I didn't keep kosher, I'd invite myself over for dinner. :)

It turned out pretty good, but I was conservative with the amount of basil. It was a good meal, but DD was NOT good company. You know she's having a bad day when she gets upset while eating.
