DD and I went to the library today and picked up a few books. I had heard of Corduroy, but I've never read it, so we borrowed that one from the library. I read it to DD this afternoon (who wasn't paying the slightest bit of attention) and was actually teary-eyed at the end! It's a lovely book, but still! Maybe it's just sleep deprivation...

Hmm...I'd blame it on nursing these days, but really, I have to admit, I've been weepy at the "silliest" little things (even commercials), so I don't know if it's just me or if I can blame it on anything...actually, now that I think about it, I don't blame it on nursing--I blame it on a lack of sleep, LOL!

ETA: I wasn't familiar with Corduroy, so I looked it up on Amazon. The description of the book (summary) was enough to make me a little teary-eyed. LOL, I wonder what will happen when I actually read the book!

Corduroy is a favorite here as well. It was one of my favorites as a child, and was one of the first "real" books (as opposed to board books) I bought for DS. :)

Kristen,

If you start making runs to the Village Bakery, you know you are, LOL! At least that's one of the ways that I knew this time around ;)!

Mine too! My aunt had bought it for a preschool class she was teaching but ended up having to give the book to me because I liked it so much. I still have that book, but my aunt didn't know that, and the first time she met James, she gave him his own copy, complete with a note inside the cover telling him how she read it to me, etc. So I can definitely get teary reading that book, whether I am pregnant or not!

That book choked me up the first few times we read it.

It is a lovely book, and that was my reaction the first time I read it to DD.

I've never read Corduroy, but maybe I should. I can't stand the cartoon, though - it's on Treehouse in the evening here.
