View Full Version : OT - How do I get rid of the ring around pan from sterilizing?

I've been sterilizing the eye dropper I use to give DD her medicine every day and now there is a ring around the pan where the water evaporated as it boiled. Anyone know how to get rid of it? I tried soaking it and that helped, but not a lot.

TIA

I have vinegar to gets buildup off of things, maybe if the ring is some sort of buildup left from the water it would work. You might double check that vinegar won't damage the pan but it is my current fall back.

I always used vinegar too. Usually about once a week.

As long as it's not aluminum, it shouldn't be a problem.

If the ring is too mineralized for the vinegar to work, try the cleanser called "Barkeepers Friend". But only if the pan is not the coated kind, and not on any mirror finish parts. CLR or LimeAway can also be good, but they are more chemical-y, where the cleanser is mainly scrubby.
