In the season premiere episode, after learning that the man she has known as Michael Vaughn is under investigation and suspected of being a double agent, Sydney begins to question whether their business and personal relationship over the years had all been a lie. When she discovers that she's pregnant with Vaughn's baby, she becomes determined to uncover the truth about him. Meanwhile, because of Jack's past betrayal by Irina, he begins to worry that his daughter may suffer the same fate that he did.

This season, new agents will be introduced and a nefarious organization will come to light in Sydney's life as she fights to protect her unborn child -- all the while traveling incognito, outsmarting the bad guys and keeping the world safe.

My DH and I became huge Alias fans at the end of last season. We've been spending the summer checking out past episodes from the library and watching them. We've seen all of season 3, first half of season 2 (had to return to library, overdue!), and currently working thru season 1. Season 2 is waiting for me to pick up so hopefully we can finish that before the new season starts!

I just read in the newspaper today that TV Guide and ABC are confirming that Michael Vaartan will not survive past the first episode of the season. NOOOOOOOOO! I am hoping against hope that it doesn't really mean he is leaving and that he will be there for all kinds of "flashbacks" or maybe even come back not remembering who he is or something...ala a soap plot. The show would not be the same without him and I am very bummed by this news. Hope it's wrong!

As an aside, I wonder if they just wrote the pregnancy into the storyline after finding out she was pg. Seems likely.

Ok, that just can't be true??? I saw a picture of them filming in People(?), InTouch(?) at the gym today & she was well into her pregnancy, so it couldn't have been the first episode could it??

Big alias fan here. I can't wait for the season to start. I loved season 1 and 2 and the second half of season 4. This summer I've been going back and rewatching the episodes from the first 2 seasons.

I wondered though...were they dating at one point? Now that she's with Ben, maybe some personal issues caused issues on the set?

I really hope Vaughn sticks around. He's way too huge of a character to get dumped! Maybe he'll pull an Irina. :)

They were dating for a while so that may have caused some issues on the set. Of course, this is Alias, so just because someone gets "killed" doesn't mean they're really dead. :)

Glad to hear it is coming back soon since I heard last season that they weren't going to write her pregnancy into the storyline and that the show would be on hold until January b/c of it. I wonder how they are going to have a secret agent with a baby though. Seems like it would be kind of tough given her line of work to always travel the world and kick butt!

That is a big bummer if Michael Vartan is killed off. I've thought he was a cutie since he was in "Never Been Kissed" with Drew Barrymore. Maybe it does have to do with the fact that he and Jennifer Garner used to date. I'm sure it is awkward to play a couple on the show when you aren't together anymore.

I am uber excited about the new season! Heck, any season!

I got seasons 1-3 for Christmas last year and season 4 comes out just in time for my birthday, so I can't wait for that.

As for whether Vaughn dies in the first episode, well, I figure I'll find out in 26 days! I absolutely adore this show, and I watch it while I work out in the mornings. And sometimes when I should be studying.

They were dating for awile and I guess all adamantly deny that has any bearing on their working together. Of course they'd say that. But I just hope it's more like other Alias stuff and that he won't really be dead. I really just can't imagine the show without him! Even DH, who really doesn't feel quite the same about him as I do, can't believe that he would be leaving. he's in denial about it as well.

Those last 2 minutes of the last episode just about killed me. I was just so stunned. I had Tivo'ed it and kept replaying it b/c I just couldn't believe my eyes. I cannot wait for it to start...

I just read in another magazine that MV does not survive the season (whether a couple of episodes or one I don't know). They did say that ABC has no intentions on reprising his role as of now. That sucks. I think viewers are going want him back I'm sure.

I'd also heard that JG is done after either this season or the next. So without her and MV, I don't see how it could be as good. :(

I almost peed in my pants with excitement when I saw Robert Patrick Benedict (Richard Coad character on Felicity) in the first and last episodes last season. :)
