View Full Version : I'm off my feet, officially!

Well, ladies and gentlemen, I am officially off my feet until the birth of this baby!

We had an ultrasound last week to find out why my belly is so freakishly huge. Everything looked great and healthy with both of us, but they did warn me to expect a BIG baby. He's already weighing 6 pounds, yikes! That's a lot of baby on my 5'2" frame!

Anyhow, this weekend, I've had FOUR mini-labors. Regular contractions, back labor, etc. It kinda starts to kick in every time I move, so I'm off my feet until the doctor decides we're ready!

The reality is starting to hit me now, but I don't think I'm freaking out yet. Just making sure the hospital bag is ready, and I'm sucking in all the last-minute breastfeeding knowledge and support I can get my hands on! We may still have several weeks ahead of us, but it could also be a lot shorter.

The installers are coming tomorrow to install the hardwood floors in the boys' rooms and then we can finally get the nursery "put together"! I'm so excited about that. :)

Anyhow, thought I'd post a little update! I'll be calling Andrea (andrea5flk) with the birth news, so she'll post the info for us here. :) I'm hoping for a few more weeks of "baking time".

Mariana-

Just prop your feet up and let that little fella cook a little longer. Take it easy...easier said than done when you have a toddler running around!

Mariana, I've been wondering how you're doing! I'm so glad things have held out this long, but I'll be praying that you have the 5-6 more weeks of baking time you were hoping for! But yikes, 6 pounds already?! Try to relax (I know, not easy), and come here for lots of support!

Big hugs!

Wow, Mariana, good luck cooking the little guy a tad bit longer. I hope you find the bedrest more relaxing than frustrating. Can't be easy with Gabe running around. Take it easy mama!

Can't wait to hear the good news. I'll be in ATL this week so I'll be thinking of you!

Thanks for the update - you sound like you're prepared! Take it easy, and put those feet up. I wish you lots of good baking time. And hope those hardwood floors turn out beautifully.

You definitely sound positive and upbeat about this-- I hope the bedrest goes well and keeps the little one cooking for as long as possible.

Stay well!

Woo-hoo! Great news! I hope that the little bun keeps baking for a few more weeks to give you time to get ready.

On a related note, I'm glad to hear that your hubby is doing well also.

Hang in there Mariana & good luck. I know it's a bit different but I'd LOVE to be placed on bedrest, just cause I work & would like a "vacation". But a happy/healthy baby is most important. I'll definitely be thinking about you! {{{HUGS}}} :)

Eep! I think my DH's aunt was like that--her two sons stayed well past her due date and were removed (ha, ha) by C-section. They were breech and well over 10 pounds, so she wasn't messing around.

Come out little one (and do it gently), we can't wait to meet you!

They told me E was 5.5lbs at 36 weeks, she was born at 37.5 6lbs 11oz. If she went full term she would have been at least 7.5 if not 8 the rate she was going!

Hang in there the next few weeks, I hope you have some good magazines and stuff to keep you busy.

I was due on the 9th and my birthday is the 18th. Maybe it's something about the date?! My mom was sure I'd be born on my grandma's birthday - the 16th, but no luck.

I hope you have him soon!
