WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So many of you have put up with my whining about how we have no space for so long...I thank you, and promise: NO MORE! :)

We are laving our two-room (Yes, two-ROOM, not two-BEDroom) apartment for a very large four-room apartment!

The impact on my life includes:

I will be able go get a pair socks if I need to leave the house after the baby's gone to sleep, because all of my clothes will be in MY bedroom, not hers. :)

I will be able to sleep in a room that is NOT the same room as the one where dh is feeding the baby breakfast three hours after I went to bed. :)

We will be able to make it to 11am without poor dd climbing the walls of her "cage."

I will be able to work on my dissertation at night with the lights ON without sending dh to sleep on the floor in Rory's room. :)

Yes, this is huge. Yes, we've made it 16 months living like this. I am positively elated.

There are tradeoffs - we lose the dishwasher (but we get to buy a Learning Tower!) and the neighborhood is not as nice. But I love the place and there's just SOOO much more room.

Ahhhhhhhh.....happy, happy me.

Thanks for brainstorming with me about how to live the way we have for the past two years. There were very good reasons for us to stay in this place, but we have completely outgrown it and some things have changed...so we are OUTTA here!!!!

:)

So excited for you Jude! I can't even begin to imagine being in a two room apt with a baby, let alone a toddler as active as yours! And while working on your dissertation too, eep! Sending you good thoughts for an easy move into a much bigger place! :)

Hooray for you and your family!!

My husband is working on his disseration--in his own office!--and it's hard enough to get work done. I/we can't imagine how you've gotten anything accomplished.

Congratulations!

Jude,
I seriously don't know how you did it this long, but I'm sure you will enjoy stretching out in your new digs!! It always makes me laugh when I see sitcoms set in NYC (Friends, Mad About You, etc.) and they all have these HUGE apartments! Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!

Congrats,
~Linda~

Yay! That is going to be an amazing change for all of you! I really don't know how you have done it this long. My hat is off to you. I think I would be hiding on a fire escape or something if I was living in two rooms with DH and my DS for that long! ;) Everyone needs a little space of their own sometimes!

Enjoy your new digs!

Yay! I'm so excited for you all! You *really* needed some more space. I have no idea how you did it for so long in two rooms, and with a little one, no less! Hope your move goes without any hitches. Enjoy your new space and congratulations!

Jude...hmmm...I'm wondering if this two-room situation is where a lot of the sleep issues you've been having come from. If I'd know this ages ago I would've said so.

That said, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats! Are you staying in NYC? Check out craigslist for free boxes. I totally forgot about that option and ended up buying ours. x(
