View Full Version : OMG - Just saw a tree fall on a moving car

DH, myself and my mom were at a Birthday Party tonight near our home. We offered my mom a ride home (10 minutes opposite direction) and she accepted, rather than waiting for her neighbor.

We're always harping on my mom for taking too long...etc; well we're at a traffic light and WHAM a HUGE tree came crashing down onto a car that had just turned onto the road (Mercedes SUV). I still can't get it out of my head. We quickly called 911, did a u-turn and tried to find a cop i'd just seen in a parking lot. However we passed the cop going the other way and i don't think he knew about the accident (couldn't have just yet) and turned down another road....

I just hope the people in the SUV are OK :-( And thank our lucky stars it wasn't us; and that my mom takes too long...and that we took a few extra minutes to say goodbye to a few other guests...etc.

Whoa..talk about life flashing you by.

PS: It's been raining here ALOT all day..and is supposed to be raining for another few days.

That is so frightening! This same freak thing happened to our babysitter earlier this year. Luckily, it was a small tree, and she was not hurt and her car suffered minor damage.

Oh my goodness, how scary for you! I'm so glad you are okay and hope the people in the SUV are okay.

Must be in the air. I came across an accident that had just happened on JFK Parkway this morning. It was pouring rain, and I guess the guy was going too fast, because his car was in the TREES!

I called 911, he was already out of his car standing there, so I guess he was OK.

Whew!
