Please help! My boys are one. Jake is usually the one who does it: takes a toy or his hand and whacks his brother Zac on the head. Zac cries, and then Jake repeats. So far, we try to intervene before the behavior happens, or stop it once it starts, say "no hitting" sternly and pick Jake up and put him across the room, then pick up the wailing Zac and console him. But sometimes (like I'm in the bathroom, or cooking), I get there after the behavior has started.
It's such a bummer, they often do play together nicely (despite attempted toy thievery, which we also intervene with). I just really want to stop this.
Any suggestions are welcome.
