Since you all were so helpful on my label question....here's another: where do you buy your postage from? I've heard a lot about stamps.com. Is this the best place? Any problems you've had with them?

Again, thanks for the info!

I do it through Paypal, myself. But I only accept payments via Paypal when I sell stuff on eBay anyway, so their information is all right there. It's disgustingly easy to do it via Paypal, though I'm sure other places are just as easy too.

I thought you were talking about the US Post Office's click n ship. :-)

That's the one I use. Its great. You pay with a credit card and it prints the label up. You don't even really need a scale, I just guesstimate.

You can even schedule to have your mailcarrier pick your package up at your house! Or, just drop it off at the post office yourself. At mine, you need to run packages into the lobby's drop. For envelopes you can use the drive thru drop-off.

This is what I use. Paypal used to levy a surcharge for buying postage through them; not sure if that is still the case. stamps.com isn't worth the steep monthly fee for occasional use, IMO.

I print mine on plain paper, then I use these to put them on the package:

You can order them free from the usps website. It's a clear envelope that is sticky on the back side to stick it to the package. You just slide the printed label inside.

I always use click and ship (for priority postage) and my digital kitchen scale. I just print them out on regular paper and tape them to the package. The only thing you have to be careful with is not to tape over any barcodes so I use three strips across (one over the top, one over the address to keep ink from bleeding in case it gets wet and one over the bottom) then two strips one on each side. I wrap most packages in freezer paper since it has that water resistant layer.

I love my carrier pickup option too although I'm pretty sure my carrier hates trudging up the long driveway.

Good to hear - they are certainly getting enough in fees everywhere else!!
