So, an e-mail goes out today that says we HAVE to wear some sort of Halloween-esque attire on Monday. I'm 8 months pregnant and I REALLY don't want to dress up. Can anyone tell me if they've seen any cute Halloween t-shirts out and about I can pawn off as my costume? If worse comes to worse I may need to just buy an orange shirt or a Halloween type pin. Why oh why? Did I say that I'm not wearing a costume? Isn't being this huge enough? TIA

There was a recent thread on costumes for pregnant women, and the one that stood out in my mind the most was if you dressed entirely in black and put glow-in-the-dark star stickers on it. You can also, if the mood strikes you, get little styrofoam planets and hang them from the hem of a black skirt. Anyway, that would make you the galaxy. :)

ETA: Here are two threads:

I say take off your shoes and go as "barefoot and pregnant".

What employer *makes* people wear Halloween costumes?

How about an orange T-shirt with some Sharpie artwork on it, turning it into a jack o'lantern? Or, take a black shirt you already have and pin a strip of white fabric running down your back and go as a skunk. Or go with all white and be a snowball...

Hmmm...
Red T = apple
Orange T = orange
Green T = lime
Yellow T = grapefruit or lemon
Blue T = blueberry
Purple T = grape or plum
Garbage bag w/ holes cut for arms and head = raisin

Being hugely PG is an asset on Halloween...your belly can wear the costume for you :)

Petra,
you crack me up. I like the Jack O' Lantern. Maybe, I'll look at Target for an XXL men's t-shirt.

In case you can't find a T...In high school we were pumpkins one year and we wore black leggings and turtlenecks (or T's) and then used those big pumpkin bags (like garbage bags, but they sell them so you can fill them with leaves and use them as decorations outside) and cut out arm and head wholes. HTH!

You can go out and get a couple rolls of TP and be a mummy :)

I think it's cruel to make a pregnant woman dress up! Can you get away with wearing all black and adding a witches hat?

I used to dress up for Halloween at my old job. When I was PG with Kathleen, I put on a black suit, slicked my hair back into a bun, and went as Frau Farbissina pregnant with Dr. Evil's love child (from Austin Powers). It was a great costume and didn't require me to look like a fool. :)

Have fun!

I just have to share this becuase I thought it was hilarious! But maybe I live under a rock and this is old news.

So I was having a drink with DH last night, and a host of people would walk by on their way to HAlloween parties (I assume). This guy was wearing normal, everyday clothes, but had like 15-20 barbie dolls attached to his clothes , all over from shirt to pants, etc. "Chick-magnet" LOL!!

When I was pregnant I got a big orange tshirt from the men's section at Target. Then I sewed on (but you coud use a black marker) a jack o'lantern face down on the fullest part of my belly. Then in the center of the mouth I attached a pacifier. Too cute!

I've heard of people "painting" a big pumpkin on their HUGE bellies and then wearing a black jogging bra and yoga pants.

Old Navy has t-shirts that read "Bat attitude." It would be easy, and you could show your displeasure with the policy at the same time!

Last year I was five months pregnant and went as a beauty pageant queen (wore my sister's stretchy prom dress with a tiara), but my sash read "Miss da Period." I also considered "Miss Steak" and "Miss da Pill."
