We're having a little party in Santiago's classroom on Friday to celebrate his second birthday.

I can't believe he's 2 either. All week I've been running through what was going on 2 years ago. At the moment (6:45AM), I was not yet feeling contractions 2 yrs ago - they started around 8AM. By the time I get home from work today, I would have had a baby - 2 years ago, of course - (he was born at 5:55PM).

This community is really a big part of these past 2 years for me. It wouldn't have been the same without you. Thanks to all of you!!!

I'll post pics this weekend of our celebration!

Hugs,

Lydia

Thank you for thinking of my little guy. It was a strange day for me. I'm having a lot of mixed feelings about him turning 2. We had a low-key day--I tried to feed him his favorite foods, spend a lot of time playing with him and loving on him as much as he'll let me these days. We gave him a toy in the a.m. before dh left for work, and he had fun playing with it with big brother before preschool. At dinner, we put two candles in a Tofutti Cutie (soy ice cream sandwich) and sang. He loved looking at the lit candles and seemd to like the treat as well. Poor bugaboo still can't have dairy or eggs due to allergies. We're doing a vegan cake for his birthday party so he can try real cake. We're doing a smallish, train-themed party at home on the Fri. after Thanksgiving. Our families are coming in for two days of eating and celebrating, so we figured we'd hold off on the party until then.

I'd post some pix from today, but my camera is half-broken. I can take pictures but suddenly can't transfer them onto the computer. : (

It's great to hear from you, Lisa! And I'm glad that Joshua had a fun day! I can hardly believe that Ellie is almost two! It seems strange to me, so I understand how you feel.

I always relate to your posts (and Lydia's) b/c your little boys are so close in age to Ellie (and LOL, she was actually due in November). :)

Nice to "talk" to you too, Jill. LOL--Joshua was due in December (12/15). He was born at just under 36 weeks.

Yes, the 2 thing is a bit strange. What's been really hard for me is that I was just pregnant with Joshua when Jack turned 2 (maybe 7 weeks). So I'm experiencing this feeling of loss that I'm not pg now (and probaby won't be again). It feels so "final" this time--having my baby turn 2. He just self-weaned last week (kind of unexpectedly), so that's adding to the mix. I posted about that on Feeding so I won't belabor it here. He's such a young 2, too. He really seems and looks--more like 4-6 months younger . . .

Ellie was due 30 November--I remember feeling strange last year around Thanksgiving (and I feel this way again), since it reminded me of Ellie's due date and all of the excitement leading up to her birth.

Hugs, Lisa! Sounds as if it is a *bittersweet* time.
