Is something wrong with “the script here?!? I have a suspicion I’m getting double credit for each post I make. Or maybe I just need an intervention! :)
I want to thank all of you for your kindness and friendship... and for all the laughs!
For 1000 I posted a list of Everything you can Learn from the BBB… http://www.windsorpeak.com/dc/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=37&topic_id=231571&mesg_id=231571&listing_type=search
For 2000 I jotted down some of what I consider to be unspoken “rules. Feel free to add your own!
-Don’t be afraid to speak your mind, but make sure it is *your* mind that is speaking. Avoid spouting theory if you have a BTDT specific example.
-Every post is a chance to work on your writing. Limit the use of simply saying “ITA. As we tell our children, use your words.
-Be clear and specific. Words on a page don’t show the same emotion, sarcasm, or kindness that spoken words do. You don’t want to upset someone unnecessarily.
-If you start a thread, intend to cultivate and finish it. Thank people who respond with info. Each response took someone’s time and energy.
-Refer to others by name when possible.
-If you don’t check a certain forum very often, bookmark a thread to be e-mailed about any responses.
-Before responding to a much-responded-to thread, try to respond to one with no (or few) responses. Everyone who posts wants/needs a reply.
-Posts should be: funny, interesting, friendly, or supportive -- preferably a combination of all four.
-Use the search feature every once in awhile… please.
-Get to know your neighbors. They’re more than just “virtual friends. :)
-Enjoy and visit often!
