quick ebay help needed!

two out of five plates arrived broken. they are insured for up to $100 through ups. i don't doubt that it happened during shipping. the seller charged $13 for shipping and packing. i do question how well the plates were packed.

so what do i do? what ever it is, i need to do it tonight though, as i leave town in the morning.

i'm sure the seller will say they were packed appropriately. how do i get ups to reimburse my for the broken plates. and how do they decide how much to reimburse.

i'm sooo bummed, the only one i wanted was broken!

Something similar happened with my DH and a mirror he bought via ebay. We contacted the seller and he said (grudgingly) that he'd take it up with UPS but that he needed our help. He wanted us to take pictures of the package and the damaged box so he could send them to UPS. We took pics and sent them out and he sent us a new mirror (which DH promptly broke two days later...) I never did hear if UPS reimbursed the seller or not.
