I have a white wooden stepstool from target. I'd like to paint it to look something like this:

Any suggestions as to what paints to use?

Thanks so much!

Sorry, I'm no help here. Someone (pixelprincess maybe?) posted a beautiful table and chair set that they painted within the last couple of months in the Around the House forum. You might look for that and see if she mentioned what kind of paint she used or ask her (if I have the right person). Or maybe someone who posts in the Crafts forum could help?

Good luck!

Probably a glossy paint. I'd go to your paint store and get their advice.

Julie - You'll likely need to sand it lightly first to remove the gloss from the white paint. Prime it and then use an acrylic paint or ones that are recommended for wood. Your local craft store should be able to give you suggestions.

Good luck! C's going to love it!

What a good idea to paint it!
I love that Tatutina stuff. I've picked up some of their stuff on ebay. It's pretty expensive new, I know, but I always figured it would cost me as much to buy all the paint supplies! So, here I am with a whole lotta unfinished wood. :)

Not pixels, but here's the thread: http://www.windsorpeak.com/dc/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=12&topic_id=41682&mesg_id=41682&page=&topic_page=1

And how she said she painited it: I mainly used flat house paint for the base coat and acrylics for the art on the surface. The ones I have are Blick paints.

Good luck with your project and let us know how it turned out!

Here is another thread (more recent) that might be helpful:
