I know you found a great resource. Here are two given to me by my DS's preschool teacher (I have to make the play dough for Jan.)

2 cups flour
1 cup salt
4 teaspoons cream of tartar
2 cups of water
2 tablespoons of oil
a few drops of food coloring

1. Measure & mix dry ingredients in one container and wet ingredients in a large pot.

2. Mix wet and dry mixtures together in the large pot. Stir well before turning on the heat.

3. Cook on med. high heat for 3 or more minutes, constantly stirring until the consistency is like that of thick mashed potatoes.

4. Turn out on waxed paper and knead a bit until it seems "right".

5. When cool enough, let the kids help with kneading.

6. When completely cooled, store in air-tight container.

**The cream of tartar will make it nice and bouncy. The salt won't sting little hands like other recipes do.

Kool-Aid Play dough

2 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup salt
2 package unsweetened Kool-Aid
2 cups boiling water
2 tablespoons oil

Mix flour, salt, Kool-Aid and oil until blended.
Add boiling water, mix with spoon until cool enough to knead.
Continue kneading until color is blended.
Store in air tight bag or container in the refridgerator.

HTH!
