Hi all,

I followed the tutorials for creating the photo collage (thank you Rashmi) and have made quite a few pictures. I was wondering if anyone has created a 5x7 card and how many pictures they were able to get on it (the resized image size would also be helpful).

Thanks for any and all information.

also, in the tutorial link I found there was also a link to creating professional pictures to be printed through shutterfly (or some other site), but it takes me back to the original collage posting. Does anyone have this information?

Thanks
Colleen

I used the tutorial about a year ago to create a b-day invite for DS, and I was able to fit 12 blocks on a 4x6. I had them printed like regular pictures at Costco. They turned out great. I can't remember the image size (but it was whatever was recommended inthe tutorial) and had a "frame" around it - meaning a background color and text.

Hope this helps.

Hi Colleen,
The tutorial (which I was not able to edit at a later date) was not for print quality collages.
For a print quality collage, you will have to increase the size of your image. I think I generally use about 1500x2100 pixels (which translates to 5x7inches).
The individual collage images would depend on how many you want in there.. the type of border etc.

Rashmi,

Sorry to butt in here, but what would the size be for a print quality 4x6?

Thanks in advance,

First off, your collage looks great! But I was wondering if you could give me the link for the tutorial. I'm not planning on doing a collage this year, but I'd like to bookmark it for future reference. :)

Thanks!

Ooops.. just saw this!
For a 4x6, I normally do a 1600x2400 pixels.

Why couldn't it be a 5x7? I printed postcards last year with pictures of the kids and choose 5x7 for some and 4x6 for others. I would stick with what you have, no need to mess with a good thing IMO.
