I finally got a card reader so that I can upload pictures (my cord connecting the camera to the computer had broken).
Here are a few pictures from my little guy's 2nd birthday celebration. We had a really nice time. We celebrated a week and a half late so that all of our family could be with us. So we wound up having two parties in a row (Thanksgiving dinner one day and then the birthday the next). Thank goodness for Whole Foods and for mothers and MILs who are good with food! Everything worked out wonderfully, except for accidentally leaving the beautiful salad dh made in the garage (our overflow fridge).
The birthday party had a train theme since Joshua is really into pushing trains on his brother's train tracks. We had a train cake, train decorations, and gave train whistles and little vehicles for favors. The house felt rather full with just 22 people in it (8 kids). It's amazing how loud 8 little kiddos can be (we had three who were 18 mos.-2 1/2, four 4 year-olds, and one 7 year-old). I kept the "big" kids busy with a train art project (which they liked--we colored and cut out engines and glued them down and made rails using popsical sticks).
Joshua had a good time--he was a little overwhelmed at times, but mostly enjoyed the activity. He didn't like his vegan cake (he has dairy and egg allergies) unfortunately. He instead enjoyed a Tofutti Cutie. Those things are tasty!
Here are a few pix (plus a rare one of the two boys together). We had a photographer come to the house to take a picture with my parents, my brother, dh, and kids, and me, and it was a total disaster. Joshua just hates sitting for pictures. Oh well. That belongs in the bitching post.
