I just learned about it a couple weeks ago--from my brother. He uses it with his friends. And yes, I guess it is the latest thing. :)

What exactly is MySpace.com? It looks sort of like a blog site, but didn't have a question of, "What is MySpace.com?" that I could find in their FAQs either. ;)

it's a place you can go to network with people. i guess it started with bands looking to get their name out and just blossomed from there.

Yeah, I think I saw it on some 20/20 or Dateline expose on the "hidden habits of your teens" show. I think of it more as a teeny-bopper site and had never heard of it until that show.

One of the local radio stations was just talking about my space on his show (evening). Apparently all the high schoolers around here are on it. Never heard of it until then.

Myspace is actually intended for adults, 18 and over. My DH and a bunch of our friends are users...it's a great networking tool for musicians as it allows you to upload mp3s for others to listen to, et cetera, et cetera...

I'm not a member but a lurker. We work with High School kids - it's amazing what you can find out there! Kids will write stuff publicly online that they would never tell you one-on-one. Some are just shocked when you mention something they've written, like it's private and not out there for the world to see. And if you are a parent of a teen - PLEASE check out what your kids are posting. I find our kids write dangerously personal information sometimes and have had many talks about what is safe/appropriate.
