Pictures engraved on jewelry?

What other mother's jewelry would you suggest? (lucyann, mommytags, beads of the heart, etc? but not necessarily personalized)

I wouldn't, no. It's just my personal hangup about wearing pictures.

I have no mothers' jewelry right now, but someday I will have a specific ring with my DS's birthstone (diamond). It'll have to be an old one...

I think they look a little cheesy. (Sorry to anyone that has one; maybe in real life they're better.) I'm just not a fan of wearing pictures of my kids (on buttons, t-shirts, bags, etc...)

how about a chunky silver charm bracelet with silver discs that have your children's monograms on one side and birth date on another? That would look really cute since you have 3 kids. One of my friends has one and I love it. Of course, you can also add other special charms to it as you have momentous life events.

I don't think I would wear it, but I don't mind the b&w one. (Or should I say black and gold?) I don't have any Mother's Jewelry, but I do have a really nice pair of ruby earrings. They are DD's birthstone and DH gave them to me for our wedidng anniversary after she was born - I LOVE them. Now all I have to do is make sure that any future kids are born in months with birthstones that will compliment the ruby so I can have jewelry with multiple stones! :)

Oh, cute idea! You know, DH gave me a charm bracelet when we were dating. I lost a charm the first month and although I found it later, I never wore the bracelet again. I should take that and add charms for the children.. and maybe have a jeweler reinforce it somehow so that I won't be afraid to wear it! Thanks for the great idea!

Thanks for the replies! I think I like the idea of engraving their pictures, but I'd feel silly wearing it.
I think I'd like to wear something that would symbolize my family to me, but that wouldn't be obvious to everyone else. Birthstone jewelry would make sense, but their birthstones are sapphire and opal.. I'd need a unique design to pull that off. Some sites suggest Pink Tourmaline instead of Opal for October.. Maybe I'll just try that.
