for December, I would use a family portrait with all of you. :)

Some pictures of you with DS would also be nice, I'm sure!

I've done this for my DH and I just asked him to verify. He would rather look at pics of our son, rather than himself. He wouldn't mind it if it were some great, special pic, but not the whole calender of himself in pics. And he wouldn't mind if I were in them too. He just doesn't want to look at pics that have him in them everyday unless they are special to him.

I would just ask your DH, really. We do make one for "everyone" every year (well, last year and this year) and last year there was a pic of Kaya with Daddy on one of them, and one pic with Kaya and Greatgrandma, but the rest were just Kaya. This year, it's Kaya alone, except one pic that has Kaya and one of the cats (her favorite), plus the father's day picture I made for DH (DADDY) for June. That one has a picture of DH with Kaya + 5 little pictures of her holding DADDY letters. I think in general, if I were going to make a calendar for DH only, he would probably prefer some pictures of her and ME (not many of those, though, since I'm the photographer), maybe a family picture for the cover or Christmas, maybe one good picture of her and him, and the rest with just her.

Do you use pictures from the previous year, or a mixture of different years? I'm trying to figure out what would be better. We've never made a calendar of DS, and he's 2. Any opinions?
I'd rather not ask DH, because I think this will be a nice surprise for him.

The first calendar was for Kaya's first year and the second calendar was for Kaya's second year. I didn't plan as well for the first one, but for the second one, I tried to show a progression from January to November of her second year. It's not perfect, but it's kind of neat to see her grow from January to December. But since you haven't made one of DS before (and I'm not sure what pictures you have of them that would be good print quality), you could try starting from the newborn stage and moving to his current age for December. Or if you have a bunch of pictures, and you're really ambitious, you could do a collage of pictures month by month and let your DH see him "grow" along with the calendar.

I don't remember--what program are you using to put the calendar together? Are you going to photoshop the pictures first (that's what I did) and then upload each page to a printing company?

Thanks, Eileen!
I'm not fancy enough for photoshop, so I'm just getting the Costco calendar and using the pictures I have saved there. I wish I had time to do a collage. That would be really cute.

You know, you could always been sneaky and tell him that you read a post on the BBB about a mama who doesn't know what pics to include in a calendar for her DH....he'll probably be able to tell you his opinion with enough time to forget about it before Christmas morning...and it'll be a big "Oh...so that's what that was all about."

Worth a try.

And, I think pics from all years would be great, esp. if you have a great one from when he was small...it could almost track how much he's grown and do younger to older pics as the months progress.
