Way OT: Can someone tell me the difference between Playstation 1 & 2?

Are they compatible in any way? Can games from PS1 be used on PS2? What about the memory card? Controllers?

PS2 has more advanced graphics and processor speed. Games from PS1 will play on PS2; they just won't take full advantage of the system's capabilities. Some controllers/memory cards will work on both, and some won't. Here's a chart from Sony's site:

go with playstation 2 for sure, they have them at costco.
