I've done a search and I can't find it. I've got about a pound of these suckers and I don't know what to do with them! TIA!

Here's what I do with them:

I cut off the stem ends, and then cut them in half (from stem to top), then slice up the halves - you end up with shreds, basically. Then I cook a some bacon or pancetta (or some similar bad-for-you fatty meat) in a frying pan until done. I remove the bacon, set aside, and chop when cool enough to handle. I then saute the brussels sprouts in the bacon grease until they're done to whatever level of done-ness you like. I usually add some salt and pepper. Then I add the chopped bacon back in and saute just long enough to mix everything together.

Yum!

We also make brussel sprouts this way. It's the only way DH will eat them! I've also steamed them just a little bit, then put them in a saute pan with some garlic and olive oil. I also tried Rachel Ray's recipe which called for boiling them in chicken or vegetable broth. I love brussel sprouts!

Same with my DH! I can get him to eat almost anything if there's bacon involved. ;)

Here's a wonderful brussel sprout salad recipe from Wegmans:

http://www.windsorpeak.com/dc/user_files/31020.jpg

I haven't actually made it, but my friend made it for Thanksgiving dinner and it was wonderful. Here's some instructions she include:
I don't use "Wegman's Applewood Smoked Uncured Bacon" because it costs more than twice as much as regular, which seems to work fine. I did buy some "Wegman's Basting Oil" and the ingredients are as follows: grapeseed oil, garlic oil extract (canola oil, natural essence extracted from garlic), freeze-dried thyme, freeze dried parsley. You may be able to find some other combination of stuff for basting oil on the net. Or just combine some grapeseed oil and
canola oil with some thyme and parsley. You seem to know plenty about
cooking, so advice from me is probably unnecessary.

Now that I've tasted it (and I never did like Brussel sprouts that much), I love brussel sprouts and will have to pick some up on my next trip out. :)

Hi Amy,

There is a Brussel Sprout recipe in the Thanksgiving
menu thread. I remembered seeing it there. :)
