HELP! I have no idea what to get. They just picked people for the Secret Santa in our office. I got a guy I don't know at all. He seems to be in his 40s. The spending limit is $10 to $15. I was thinking gift cert for a book store but I really don't want to drive 20+ miles to Albany to buy a $15 dollar item and there's no time to order online.

How about an online gift certificate to Barnes & Noble or Amazon?

Do you know if he drinks coffee at work? If he does, maybe get some coffee flavor crystals and/or a nice mug. You could even get a few small coffee items (like biscotti or chocolate stirrers or a bag of small chocolates), put it in a ceramic mug, and wrap it up with tissue paper or clear plastic wrap with a bow like a gift basket.

Otherwise, I might get something that everyone would use, like a gift certificate or gift card to a grocery store. (Maybe there's a gourmet store in town or nearby?)

If you don't have a store like that, maybe the florist department at your grocery store has gift baskets that are within your price range.

Lottery Tickets are the popular item around my office for Secret Santa.

I would probably buy a Starbucks card, but, then again, I love Starbucks!

what about a g.c. for the place where your office likes to go for lunch. For example, Nature's Table runs our small cafeteria and people in my office will often give each other g.c. for them bc so many people get their lunch from them.

Or I would suggest a box of chocolates or candy!

They have this new game at TRU for $10. I have not yet played it, but it seems to be the new craze (numbers game).

Movie theatre gift certificates are usually a good secret santa gift. Most people like movies :-)
