I used to work at a women's health clinic. We decorated the tree in the waiting room with these. It was shocking how few people caught on to what they were!

I want to know, too!

When I was a kid, my sister and I used pads and tampons (tampax worked best) to make mattresses and pillows for our dollhouse - boy wasn't my Mom pissed off when she discovered how creative we were ;)

How to make bedroom slippers out of maxi pads: You need four maxis to make a pair. Two of them get laid out flat for the foot part. The other two wrap around the toe area to form the top. Tape or glue each side of the top pieces to the bottom of the foot part. Decorate the tops with whatever you desire, silk flowers, etc.

Pad About Slippers
* Soft and Hygienic
* Non-slip grip strips on the soles
* Built in deodorant feature
* Keeps feet smelling fresh
* No more bending over to mop up spills
* Disposable and biodegradable. Environmentally safe
* Three convenient sizes: Regular, Light day and Get out the Sand Bags

Yeah, Kaya liked playing with them too, before she played with the last of my 3 year stash (one box only...I became pregnant, then I switched to Diva + cloth). I posted these here before and will remove by tomorrow, but as long as we're laughing:

OMG!! Susan, I was already sputtering with laughter from the original topic alone, but your post make soda squirt out of my nose!

Thanks for the laugh! :D

By the way, I'm keeping all drinks out of arm's reach while reading humorous threads from now on. ;)

We needed a craft for our playpark Christmas party, and I did want to do ornaments. This might just be perfect. Thanks!! ;)

Well, I guess it would look slightly more appropriate than, say, a Diva cup or some gianormous post partum pads on the tree.

Wonder if they're scented... :P

That is so funny! Kai loves to play with the tampons too! DH gets so freaked out if he has to even touch one in the wrapping still. I explain to him that they are sanitary but he just gets all skeeved by it. So he gets really skeeved when Kai plays with them.

Has anyone else had this lovely situation?: Your DC will not leave the bathroom, and you need to change your pad. As you are putting said pad in place, DC says "Mommy's diaper!" I really felt like I was scarring the boy for life, but what could I do, he wouldn't leave the bathroom!!!

LOL! oh yeah, I can never get the door shut before DS follows me in to the bathroom! At least he will know what the things look like so he won't be nervous about buying them for his wife at the store when he's an adult! LOL

I never knew there were so many creative things you could do with tampons & pads. I wonder if the trend will catch on in elementary schools. Can you just imagine some of the things our kiddos would be coming home with?! lol "Here Daddy....I made you some slippers!" :D

Umm...I removed a soiled one and Kaya said, "Poot! Poot!"

Sigh...
