Just to recap, we already had DS point to a stranger in the store and say "Boobie!!!". He has also tried me to get me to nurse his Elmo doll.

Last night, during our nursing session, he stopped, looked at me, and very seriously said: "Mmmm Boobie. Good stuff."

I nearly died laughing!

That is hilarious! My dd's always wanting to share with some stuffed animal or another. She's been nursing on only one side for quite a while, and she has decided that the other boob is for her to touch while she's nursing, so now almost every time we sit down to nurse, she raises my shirt way up and says (while pointing) "This one drinkin'; this one touchin'" LOL. The joys of nursing a toddler. :)

Okay, first off, are you sure he's only 20 months old?! That is pretty hilarious! Has he been watching beer commercials or something like that? ;)

Kaya has had me nurse her doll and lambie, but she doesn't know the word boobie. Instead she says, "Apple" for nipple. But she has correctly identified it on herself and DH as well, so that's pretty neat. But only milk comes out of mommy's right "apple". The left one is broken and milk doesn't come from Daddies or babies. :)

I think the closest she's come to what Charlie did is when she nurses, she'll often go, "Mmmmmmmmm....mmmmmm...." and act like she's going into ecstacy. It's pretty funny, but it's also heartwarming. :)

LOL, you bet it's "good stuff!"

Gwen has been 'nursing' her stuffed animals lately - she's mightily disappointed that I won't let her nurse Becca. Yesterday, I left my Isis pump sitting on the table when I left the room briefly. I came back to find her with her shirt lifted, diligently pumping!

This thread is hilarious! I'm a little jealous that your kids "appreciate" their boobies. My DD just begs (insists very strongly) for some milk and then just goes for it and doesn't pay any attention to me. No compliments on my milk. No jokes. No smiles. Nothing! ;)

OMG -- this one's for touchin'? Really? Too funny. We're one sided, too, but his hand just generally wander up my shirt while he squirms uncontrollably.

I get the sense that bf'ing just all around feels good, a whole body experience, so to speak.

Apple is such a better option than boobie. You are much better off!

I think he got "good stuff" from his daddy, who when he feeds him often asks "Is that good stuff?"

LOL, that's so funny! Oh, and OT, but I always like to read your posts about what Charlie is doing because he and Kaya are so close in age!

This is very funny stuff! Avery will say, "Ymmmm. Rishus" to mean "Yum. Delicious." Of course then saying "Mmmm" makes her think she has to go "Mmm. Ca." for "Vroom vroom goes the car."

That is too cute! Thanks for sharing the laugh -- I'm sitting here with my eyes watering because I've been laughing so hard! DD a few weeks ago asked to nurse and upon snuggling up to me said "Milk.Milk is great" and proceeded to latch on. It was really sweet!

I know!!! I like hearing what Kaya is up to, too! There's a few in their cohort around here, and I always get a kick out of hearing how they are doing.

This phase is really amazing, though. They are developing so fast, and they are becoming truly their own little people.

How funny. What a great thread.
DD stopped nursing at 17 months when I became pregnant and wasn't verbal yet. I feel like I missed out on her "true" thoughts and fear she doesn't even remember nursing from the way she acts surprised and points to my breasts when we shower from time to time. I have the fear she'll be screaming "boobs" or something so I always say chest. This is mama's chest, here is your chest. I'm such a chicken!
Thanks for the giggles! How sweet!

I think it's great that you're able to nurse your little angel still.
I was able to nurse my twins for 6 months. We had a rough start but once the three of us caught on we had smooth sailing. I'm not really sure what happened at 6 months but it just seemed like they weren't interested anymore. We switched to formula and that was the end of that. I cherish those moments, looking into their eyes as they nursed. I had one of those twin nursing pillows that allowed me to nurse both at the same time....what an experience.

I am so grateful for that time. I also wonder if they remember the experience, probably not. You are truly blessed to have this special connection with your little angel.

Thanks for sharing the giggle.

Mine's a little different:

I was visiting family and my 6 year old nephew (who always asks the tough questions) asked, "What do you feed your baby?"

I responded,"I feed her milk that I make."

To which he asked, "What about the milk that [my husband] makes?"

I said, "Only mommies can make milk."

To which he responded with a very confused look, "My daddy makes my brother milk." It was then that it dawned on me- my SIL never BF'd. I honestly did not know how to respond.
