I have total pg brain and have no idea how I managed to do this last year! I used Rashmi's tutorial last year to create a beautiful collage. This year, I went back through the tutorial, sized and saved all of the pics I want to use. Now as I'm trying to bring them together as layers, I am totally falling apart! How do you get all of the files together and compiled into layers??? I have been trying to do this for an hour and the new layer keeps pasting over the other layer!!! Please help.

Thanks!

If you look on the right side, you should be able to access the layers, yes? So let's say you paste a picture into your working board. You can then move it off to the side. Then paste the next picture and move that one. The problem is that if you have your pictures all the same side, I think by default they paste it in the middle of your workspace. So they all stack on top of another. It's not a big deal, since you can access each layer separately. But the layers aren't disappearing; the pictures are just stacked on top of each other. Does that help?

Thank you so much for the quick response!!! But I still can't get it. I have my "master file" open with the blank background. Then I go to File - Open - and select the psd file that I want. It then jumps from my blank background to a "new" document and I can't bring the two together. Does this make any sense? What the heck am I doing??? I am on a PC, by the way...

Ah! Okay, I see what you mean. What you want to do is go to the PSD file that you want. Select the entire picture and copy and paste it into the new document. Does that help?

Yes, I was surprised that photoshop (at least as far as I was able to determine) doesn't have a photo insert option....

You are fantastic! Thank you so much - I just got it from your instructions. And thank you for not laughing at me in your post - you can laugh off line at my cluelessness :)

No laughing here--it took me a little playing around to figure it out the first time. Photoshop is one program that is NOT self-evident or instinctual! But it is useful!
