A totally frivolous questions but I know there are some experts here.

I had a salad that had chickpeas, cashews, some kind of sprout, tomato, spinach (or some kind of green torn up), cucumber and some yummy vinagrette? I wanted to ask the name but we were in a hurry and I have been dreaming about it ever since.

Thanks,

Christine

LOL, I asked my indian co-worker. She response "it is just a salad", quickly followed by "you always give names to things over here, I have no idea." lol So sorry no help here, but I found her response amusing. Though you may have to know her to get the amusement end of it. ;)

I agree with your co-worker Christy! I don't think there is a name.. maybe if you put all the ingredients and then add a squeeze of lime-juice.. that would do it?

Christine,
I don't know that it has a name...but a few ideas- the sprout could be mung (moong) bean sprout, and could the greens have been cilantro? :-) The raw chickpeas were something I found here in salads (not in India i.e.), but we pretty regularly make a salad from mung bean sprouts, tomato, cucumber, cilantro and lime juice.

I am kicking myself for not asking but DS is teething and was at the end of his rope. Your coworker must be right because at this restaurant they label everything with the name of the plate, etc. but this salad didn't have anything.
We don't live close but next time I will stop by the little store next door to pick up the beans to sprout.
Thanks for your input and I will have to make this soon.
