I was just wondering what term you use for #2 with your little ones. I've been calling it 'caca doodoo' since bringing my twins home. I'm rethinking this because DS has started saying "ca ca ca ca ca ca" over and over when his diaper is dirty. I'm glad he's picked up on the understanding but not sure I want him saying that if we're in a restaurant or in church.

My sister calls it "poo pooey" and my BIL calls it a "dukey". Any suggestions?

Oh, my SIL who is a nurse practitioner calls it a "bowel movement" as her children do.

ETA I hope this subject doesn't offend anyone, SIA.

I didn't vote. We call it Poop. Kaya calls it "Poot" most of the time, but sometimes manages to use a "P" instead of a "T".

I just ask if she needs a clean diaper.
When she gets older, I will ask if she needs to use the restroom (or in between, if she had an accident. : )
My mom always called it BM when I was little, which is why I was shocked when I heard her call it "Poopsies" to dd the other day.

Poopie. We even have made up a little song about poopie diapers that uses the Jeopardy tune.

I didn't vote because the term we use wasn't listed. We use "poop" or say that he "has a poopy diaper". When we were kids, we called it "BM", short for "bowel movement".

I didn't vote. We call it poop or poopy (i.e., "Did you poop?", or "Do you have a poopy diaper". The answer from DS is always "NO!" :))

We call it poopy. I usually ask her if she's poopy and I always get a smile. Sometimes I wonder why.

I call it poo-poos or stinky poo-poos and I have a song, too! I don't know what it's to the tune of, but it's quite catchy; my whole family sings it now! :)

We call it poop... but sometime dd calls it "poops," which I think is very cute. :)

Once, before I had kids, I was in the airport using the restroom before boarding my plane. There was a mom and her daughter in a stall near me. I heard the mom saying, "Don't touch that, just let me go to the bathroom real quick... no, keep your hands off that, it's dirty... " etc. I hear the little girl muttering something, and finally the mom repeats her, "Oh, you have to do a 'big daddy?'" I could not contain my laughter--I thought it was hilarious! So sometimes my dh and I joke about Sylvia "doing a big daddy." I didn't see that choice in your poll, though. ;)

poop or I think when Ds was in diapers we just said he had a dirty diaper as opposed to wet.

I think 'poop' came from us reading the book Everyone Poops.

poop/poopy. schuyler says it is poopy time these days. cracks me up. he used to just say he had to go poopy. i don't know where "it's poopy time" came from! with dylan, we usually say, "uh, dylan is stinky!" i need schuyler to help me change dylan (seriously, i need my two year old to help.) so i have to make it funny. we also say a lot of, "did dylan go poopy in his PANTS?" and ridiculous things like that. schuyler sits at the head of the changing table and chats with dylan so he doesn't wildly attempt to flee the changing scene while i wrestle him like a mad alligator trying to hold, wipe and replace diaper all at once...

Why would you not want to give it a name? (just curious)

Ewww! LOL. Who in their right minds would call it a big daddy? ;)

To OP: we also call it poop or poopy diaper. I might ahve also said poo poo before. This is the term they generally use at daycare, too. "Did you poop?"

We call it poop or poopy.

Here is a little song that I made up and sang to my
daughter, Carson while changing her diaper when she was
a baby.

"Poo, Goo, Pee Pee, we gotta get that booty clean!" :)

LOL, It's not that I'm going out of my way NOT to give it a name.
It just sort of worked out that way.
For example, if I was speaking to an adult I would say, "Excuse me, I have to go use the restroom.", not "Excuse me I have to go poop.", so I just use the same manner of speaking when speaking to my dd, kwim?

ETA: Not that I would have a problem should she choose to dub it Poopie or anything else. It would just take a conscious effort for *me* to refer to it that way. One that, at this point in time, is not necessary.

"Poo poo pants."

Poop - I guess because that's what *my* mother called it, and it's certainly easier for DS to say "poop" than "bowel movement."

(there may come a time when I regret the choice, when he declares loudly, proudly and oh-so-publicly "Mommy I POOPED!")

Poopies in this house.

Speaking of which, as I was reading this thread, Payton came to tell me, "I poopied in my comfy pants, Mommy!" and he was right (his comfy pants are sweats). Looks like we're getting closer to PT in this house :)

we call it poop here, but when Logan first started saying it, she said "boop", so sometimes we still say boop.

Poop here. DD likes to name hers - started when she started potty training. Or she'll say "That's the mommy, that's the baby!" and then she'll say "bye" to them when she flushes.

Funny, a friend calls it BM, and I always think "breastmilk" when I hear that!

Yet another vote for "poop" or "poopy diaper/pants". :) I had to laugh a little just typing that out! It's kind of funny that one of the most commonly used terms wasn't on the poll.(no offense OP,just probably not a term you use) We have used "ca ca pants" too.
ETA: No offense taken here! Just a fact of life. :P

Nathan calls it ewwww pee pee vs the just pee pee for wetting. I guess he associates everthing in his diaper as pee.

Pretty much the same thing here too. We usually just call it poop, or ask if he's poopy. And are questions are the same way too. "Did you poop?" "Do you have a poopy diaper?" "Can I check your pants to see if you pooped?" The answer if he actually did so (which is how you know for sure that he did) is "NOOOO!" as he makes a beeline away from you. ;)

None of the above. We call it a "goat farm," as in "Shew! That smells like a goat farm!"

When he is grunting and straining we joke that he must be hearding goats :)

Poopy diapers are also known as dookie bombs, and they are contributions for the consciousness-raising group "Dookie Bombs For Daddies." Just my way of getting out of changing them.

It's all silliness. We try to make diaper changes fun, so that he wont grow to hate them.
