I took Kaya to the mall yesterday when I went to Crate and Barrel. Well, it turns out that Stride Rites is on the same floor, and she was sooo good at Crate and Barrel (mostly because I gave her those little silicone condiment cups to play with) and awesome at the Ecco store, where she played with the rubber duckies and let me get my food measured, and actually let me do a diaper change!!!...but I digress. Anyway, we were passing by and there was a little girl in there getting shoes and Kaya wanted to see her. So I took her in and started talking to the sales lady about getting Kaya's foot measured since I've never actually had it done. Kaya loved putting her feet on the measuring device (the lady told us to put her socks back on since it might be cold) and even took off her socks afterwards and put her feet back on it. :D
Anyway, I asked her if she had anything in the rain boot category for her size and lo and behold, she comes back with these pink rubber boots. They are shaped like this:
http://www.striderite.com/shopping/product/detailmain.jsp?itemID=567&itemType=PRODUCT&iMainCat=4&iSubCat=142&iProductID=567
but they are mostly pink and have a scene with the Eiffel Tower and a little French girl walking a French poodle and holding a pink umbrella. I thought they might be too high for her, but after walking around the store a little bit, she figured out her balance and started tromping around. It turns out they were $14.95 (regular $34.95), and they were sized so that she should be able to wear it through the beginning of next winter, so I decided to go ahead and get it, especially because I'm not so sure we would have been able to get those boots off of her! ;) It was the first thing she asked for this morning, but she did let us take it off for her nap ("bye, bye, boots").
I will take a picture when she wears them tonight, but I thought I'd share, since some of you MIGHT be looking for rain boots for your toddlers? They had other ones in the store and all of the boots and other winter shoes were 60% off, so now might be a good time.
