View Full Version : ISO perfect long-sleeve t-shirt for Mama
I'm on the hunt for a few long sleeve t-shirts for spring. Here are my criteria:
semi-fitted
on the long side (as in not cropped)
jewel or not too deep V neck
comes out of the dryer presentable (I refuse to iron t-shirts)
material not too thin (not planning to layer and don't want see-though)
under $25 per shirt
good enough quality to last a year or two of washing every week or two
Any suggestions?
Thanks so much!

I got some really nice long sleeved shirts at Target, great fit, length, etc. They've held up better than my really expensive $50+ t-shirts from 3 dot!

The latest Victoria Secret catalog had lots of long sleeved tees for 12.50 I think but I have no experience w/ how they wash/wear.

I usually have good luck at either Gap or Old Navy.

Hanna Andersson's Power of a Great tee LS tees. Slightly fitted, slightly feminine neckline, look great with jeans, khakis or capris.

Someone here suggested Shadeclothing.com, and I have become addicted. I am on a quest to own all that they make now. I am grateful to that poster!!
Seriously, they are well priced, well fitted, and gloriously long.

Thank you all! I decided to order 3 from Old Navy. I've had mixed success with their stuff in past, but at $8 a shirt I figured I'd give it a try. Especially since I need to get DS more socks anyway.
Happy New Year!

Another vote for Gap. Do you have a Kohl's? I get lots of long sleeved shirts there...they have a lot of variety and the hold up forever!

Yes!! Love 'em, love 'em, love 'em. Lands End also has some nice ones, but not as feminine as Hanna.

Love the Gap's Favorite T long sleeved cotton shirts! If I could own one in every color I would: best quality, best fit, good price.
They even have some styles on sale...often in the store you can find the favorite T's 2 for $30 (LS) and 2 for $20 (SS). I know you already got some from Old Navy, but these will be a staple in your wardrobe for years!

I'm all about the Gap stretch line. I have several of the short-sleeve ones and just acquired some of the long-sleeve boatnecks. Good for layering, but fine to wear alone too. They come out of the dryer fine, but I hang them in my closet because they wrinkle a bit if you fold them.

You said, jewel neck or v. I'm not sure what jewel neck is, but they have several styles. The key is the STRETCH cotton. Happy shopping!

I adore this long sleeve soft touch Tee from Lands End. It's a V neck, but very very very shallow V neck. Very soft. Sooo comfy.

****blushing furiously*** Jessica, that was me who recommended www.shadeclothing.com . I'm so glad that you like them! I was about to recommend them again. I'm SOOOO bummed that I missed out on 2 pks of the long sleeves at Costco for $26.99 this past month. They are a local business here and Costco picked them up for the holidays. By the time I saw them, they only had XL left. They had 2 pk of their long camis for $12.99 as well. I need to ask if they are planning another sale!
I have started to notice longer length Ts in Old Navy and Target recently as well.
Here's another similar site that a friend recommended. I don't own any of theirs, but she told me she likes them better than Shade:

I would check out LLBean. They actually have very good quality, I think they're under 25 bucks and they have loose styles, fitted styles, and semi-fitted. I will probably order from there next, if I need more of them.
Personally I have found shirts from Target to hold up very poorly, but Old Navy ones tend to hold up better.

Love that one too! (Land's End, shallow V) Nupe
