I remember a long time ago there was a thread about a drop cloth fabric to put beneath high chairs. There was someone selling great patterns on the internet. It was similar to a vinyl tablecloth but a little classier, if you will. Does anyone have a clue as to what the fabric is called?

Maybe oil cloth fabric? When you find out let me know...I am on the lookout for a mat to put under the high chair :)

Mexican oil cloth is popular. Here's a link to some patterns.

Here's a link to Land of Nod's splat mat with these patterns.

Oilcloth! I have this idea of taking this red dotted oil cloth I found on a site and edging it (neatly) with brown duct tape to make a primitive splat mat for under the easel. I'll let you know how it works out if I ever get around to it!

I have oilcloth (strawberry in red) that is identical to Land of Nod's that are under my Kinderzeat. No edging is needed since it's sort of like a thick vinyl tablecloth. It works great.
I also have it on my playtable so that you can paint, etc. The chairs don't slide as smooth as wood floor but it works fine.
