Thank you all! I've been trying to get online but between trying to sleep & trying to nurse it's been a bit crazy. :P I was really hoping to have this little one early & actually had my membranes stripped THREE times trying to get this going....I guess 3rd times the charm!

Anyway, on Thursday (12th) I had my doctor's appointment at 9:30. I was dilated to 3cm & 80 - 90% effaced. She stripped my membranes for the 3rd time & as I was leaving I actually started to feel some cramping. It got progressively stronger throughout the day & by dinner time I knew I was having contractions. They were hard to time really but coming every few minutes. We had dinner, gave DD her bath & put her to bed. Right after that I told DH we for sure needed to go to the hospital to at least have things checked out. His sister came over to watch DD for us, she only lives a block away so it was very convenient. We got to the hospital about 8:30 & they checked me out. There was NO change from that morning...not a good sign since I'd been having contractions most of the day. Basically to admit me they needed to see some progress so they had us walk around for about an hour. They checked me again & still no change. So for the next hour/hour & a half I sat on an exercise ball & bounced until my legs hurt. It was kind of hard since I was having contractions & they were getting worse by the minute! By 11:00 I'd only dilated to almost a 4. I was SO sure they were going to send me home but they could tell I was obviously having contractions & that I was in pain, so I know they really were hoping for some more progress. Anyway, they ended up calling my doctor. She is on call 2 nights this month & the 12th just happened to be one of those nights! Since I'd been seeing her weekly & just that morning she knew how much I wanted to have the baby & told them to go ahead & admit me. By midnight I had the epidural & wasn't feeling the pain anymore. Ahhh...I LOVE modern medicine! ;) They told me to just rest & they'd monitor for progress every hour or so. By 3:00 am there was STILL no change so they called my doctor & she told them to give me Pitocin. Within 2 hours I went from 4cm to 9cm & was fully effaced. They called my doctor again & she was there by 5:30. I pushed for 34 minutes & Grace was born at 6:04! My little Friday the 13th baby! :D I had a couple stitches & am still in some pain but it's getting better. I had a great experience in the hospital & was very happy with how everything turned out. :)
