AZ Breastfeeding Rights Picnic Tues 1/31 at the Capitol

Hi All-

As you may or may not know, AZ does not exempt breastfeeding from indecent exposure laws. I have been working w/ a group of moms to get this changed. We were successful in getting Chandler and Tempe to pass ordinances clarifying a baby's right to eat in public places.

We need your help at the state level. Next week (Tues 1/31) we will be having a picnic at the state capitol from 11-12:30. This is intended to be a peaceful family-type gathering to show lawmakers that nursing is normal and that this is a family values issue.

Please bring your kids and a lunch and join us on the Senate lawn.

The AZ Capitol is located at 1700 W. Washington Ave in Phoenix. (17th Ave and Washington). Parking is at Wesley Bolin Plaza and is free.

We will have vendors, speakers, and door prizes, so please come out and support this worthy cause!!

It's so cool to see this happening. Unfortunately, I won't be in town that day. I will be in Phx several times in Feb though. Hopefully buying a house to move into by June!

ETA: Sorry, Christia, I thought Lisa started this thread. Great job to you both! Yes, I have faith AZ will have passed this by the time I get there. But, hey, I'm always up for a party -- especially where I can flash my bare breasts. Oh, wait, that's not the point, is it? ;)
