View Full Version : Yet another sign that my baby is a kid now...

She just said her longest sentence ever! I just had to tell someone, it was so cool.

She's a gabber, so her more complex sentences frequently come tumbling out in not necessarily the right order, so she stands there and says them differently until she gets it the way she wants it.

But just a few minutes ago, I was reponding to a post on the boards, and Rory came over and said, verbatim:

"Mommy's typing on the keyboard, writing email?"

Wow. No more baby, I guess. :(

I was nearly floored. Anyone had a similar moment recently? Please share!

Ah, but Rory is definitely well advanced when it comes to speech! ;)

Let's see...yesterday in the car Kaya said, "Kaya want drink Mommy's water...cold water."

And of course, yesterday when we put her to bed, as I left I said, "I love you Kaya" and she responded "I love you".

But yes it does amaze me how quickly our babies are growing up!

They do grow up too fast, but every day is an adventure isn't it? I'm learning from yoga that I need to enjoy each day as it happens and not worry about tomorrow or yesterday. It does make things a little less stressful in any case. :)

I have to put in a vote that Rory is just amazingly advanced verbally! Wow!!!

Earlier today, Ellie was on the Learning Tower and was calling for Daddy and then called out "Daddy... watch me." I think that's our most complex "normal" sentence yet! We were very proud of her!

Congratulations Rory - She's way ahead of my toddler. He's speech delayed and we've had him therapy for about 7 months now. Today, I sneezed and he said "Blush you Mommy". You could have knocked me over with a feather as I just sat there shocked - he has never initated comments before - only repeating what we ask him to say. He thought I was crazy when I picked him and started dancing!!!
