Updated-- had a hair cut this week and got some new news.
Mama #1's cancer has spread-- during the radiation on her hip, the cancer spread to her lungs. It's being treated. She's in positive spirits, though.
Mama #2's brain tumor was the size of a tennis ball, and the news is that it's likely terminal. She's getting both chemo and radiation. Apparently she's facing this better than anyone could imagine.
The more prayers and positive thoughts we can send their way, the better. TIA for whatever you can send.
------------------------------------------------------------------
A couple mamas in need... They're both hairdressers at the shop I visit, and both have serious health issues I learned tonight.
Mama #1 (teenage kiddos) is a 2 year breast cancer survivor-- she had some hip pain recently that the oncologist ignored, and it turns out her hip is now full of cancer & it's in her lymph nodes, as well. She cut my hair when my normal lady was out for her own health emergency in the fall.
Mama #2 (3 year old son) just got remarried on the 7th of January. She had crazy headaches-- similar to migraines she'd always had, but which got worse in December, attributed to the stress of the season & wedding planning. On Sunday she went to the ER after a particularly bad episode & a CT found a brain tumor in her frontal lobe. She's only 32. They're going to remove the tumor tomorrow & biopsy it to determine her prognosis.
I won't have updates on these mamas 'til after my next haircut (early March) 'cause I don't want to add to the non-stop calling going on at the shop as all their clients' appointments are rescheduled. It hurts my heart to think that these two sweet ladies who have made me laugh and smile are in pain and facing a very scary unknown.
Thanks for letting me share, and for any prayers and good thoughts you can send their ways.
