We bought fireplace safety bumpers which were a total waste of money. Kael pulled them off within seconds and started banging on the cats. And this was when he was 12 months old!

Anyway, what's left on the brick are the double-sided tape pieces that I can't seem to get off. I have to use a nail file or screw driver to scrape the foam part off but that leaves the sticky adhesive on the brick. Acetone doesn't work and I end up scraping the brick.

Anyone have some tried and true tricks? Thanks.

I haven't tried them on brick, but I've used Mr. Clean Magic Erasers to get adhesive off. It just kinda grabs it off. I might be concerned it'd leave a chalky residue on brick though, so test it before you go scrub away!

My secret weapon for adhesive is GooGone, but I'm not sure if that would damage the brick or not.

What about rubbing alcohol? I've used it to safely remove pine pitch from carpet, so I can't imagine it would damage brick.
