I'm in the market for a head scarf or head cover - kinda like those for cancer patients. I'm having trouble with color. What color looks good on someone who has very dark brown hair a fair skin? My aunt had a stroke and had to have surgery on her brain and now needs something to cover her "naked" head. Also, any leads on where I can find such a thing on the internet? Did a Google search, but was wondering if you fabulous BBB'ers had any rec's?

Sorry to hear about your aunt. We run into this a lot at work.

Try Googling "chemo caps" -- you'll see lots of patterns for knitting and crocheting them, but also a lot of sites selling them readymade:

If you are crafy, they are easy to knit or crochet and I can recommend some yarns.

For fair skin and dark hair I'd suggest royal or navy blue, burgundies and bluish reds (not oranges), forest green -- but really I'd think about what colors she likes to wear and go from there.

Good luck shopping -- you're a thoughtful niece!

There is a store in Cambridge, MA called Anouki. It has amazing head scarves in cotton in beautiful colors and patterns. They will mail last I heard, I think it is definitely worth a call to them. They can also help with color. This is all my MIL wore when she was going through Chemo. Good luck to your aunt!
