We've been getting our organic milk there for over a year. It's by far the cheapest I've found anywhere - $7 for three 1/2 gallon containers in a box. The expiration dates are usually pretty far off, so we really stock up when we go. Last week, the expiration dates were for 3/18. I think we bought four boxes.

My Costco also is now carrying Yobaby and Stonyfield yogurt - both smoothies and in the cups.

Kind of off-topic, but YEAH, I'm getting a Costco about 12 miles away, which is great!! The next closest one is only about 10 minutes further away, but I almost never go that way, so I let my membership go. Knowing they are carrying all the organic stuff will definitely bring me back.

That is wonderful! I wish ours carried half of that. They had the Stonyfield Farms Smoothies for a short while, but they are gone now. I know they have 2% milk though. Thanks for the heads up I will keep my eyes open for more organic options when we go this week.

The one I went to is newer - it opened about a month ago. I wonder if it's relatively new for them to be carrying this much organic or if they're selecting certain Costco's to carry them. Hopefully all of them will eventually be carrying more selection of organic food! I was so surprised!

It's the cheapest I've been able to find organic milk too. Trader Joe's is close, but Costco is still cheaper by about a dollar. That's good to know about the expiration date. I didn't see any Stonyfield yogurt, I'll have to check next time.

We had stopped going once DD was done with diapers since that and wipes were the main reason we had the membership. I was so glad we happened to stop by!

This isn't organic, but they carry nitrate/nitrite/hormone/antibiotic free chicken sausage (feta/spinach flavored) as well. It is the same stuff sold at Trader Joes (Costco's price was a bit cheaper the last time I checked, and we don't have TJs in NC anyway). Whole Foods sells it too, and for quite a bit more than TJs or Costco I think. DS likes this stuff a lot. We use it for breakfast sometimes and it is good with pasta for a super-easy dinner.

I've also recently seen organic whole bean coffee. They have a grinder toward the check out at our store. We haven't tried it yet (we usually get organic free trade coffee) but the price was excellent if I remember correctly.

Our store now sells 3 packs of the Kashi version of organic Shredded Wheat (forget the name).

They carry organic spices now (a few...rosemary and maybe a few others).

I recently spied organic crackers.

Organic spring mix (salad)

Pre sliced organic apples (not a great bargain IMO compared to slicing your own, but nice it is available).

5 lbs of organic baby carrots

Someone mentioned here on the boards once that they had organic frozen hamburgers (they didn't like them FWIW) from Costco, but I've never seen them at our store.

I am soooo happy they keep expanding their organic offerings!! :)

Edited to fix a few typos.

I don't know if I ever posted about the organic frozen hamburgers, but we definitely did not like them. They came out rubbery and tough, no matter how I cooked them. :( Costco also carries NY Steaks (or some other type of steak) by the same brand that we won't try).

I think their items vary by store, but ours also carries:
Silk regular soymilk in both the refridgerated and aspetic style.
6 lb bag of organic asparagus
Spring salad mix (this is new to our store)
Organic frozen spinach pizza
Ours used to sell organic edemame, too.

That's awesome - I'll have to check out the sausage! Is it yummy (I've never had chicken sausage)?

That's good to know about the hamburgers, especially when you're buying them in bulk!

I just remembered that I also saw Horizon organic chocolate milk in juice box-like containers. They weren't in the refridgerated section, I think they were down the juice aisle.

Try the Aidell's Chicken Apple Sausage. I am one of the most skeptical people when it comes to 'new' food, but these are awesome. The Aidell's stuff is also sold at Whole Foods for much more money, but in smaller packages (the Costco pack is something like 12-16 links).

They're over by the 'gourmet' cheese section (kind of near the rotisserie chickens - at least in my Costco).

The sausages are outright amazing grilled, but not bad microwaved. The kids LOVE them, and they're great for company since they're techinically already cooked.

Mmmm, I'll have to try them out! Now I'm craving sausage :-) Thanks for the tip on locating them - I probably never would have checked the cheese section!

Our Costco has a huge amount of organic stuff as well! I love going there each month and seeing what new organic products have shown up. Other organic foods I've seen there but I don't see mentioned above are jam (I've seen two different kinds), frozen mixed berries, frozen waffles, cold cereal, instant oatmeal, and whole wheat bread. I also just saw their own brand of Kirkland organic peanut butter this past weekend. I've tried the 4 pack of organic steaks and liked them. I just bought the spinach feta 2-pack of pizzas this weekend but haven't tried them yet. Every month I look to see if they've added organic yogurt or cheese, but no luck yet. I think it would be great if they started carrying organic chicken breasts as well. Way to go Costco!

They also carry Cedarlane bean burritoes and the spinach/feta pie (like spanakopita (sp?)) which are both organic and very good.

Our Costco doesn't have the best organic selection but I've also see an organic cereal made by Nature's Path. It's got dried cranberries and a hint of ginger flavor. I really like it and much cheaper than the health food store.

Beth mentioned sliced apples--there's a very interesting article in the NYT Magazine about them. Apparently the search for a way to pre-slice and maintain freshness went on for a very long time. The coating they add is made of basically vitamin C and calcium. And people, adults and kids, tend to eat a lot more apple when they are given slices rather than the whole apple.

I've never seen the steaks at our store...are they in the frozen section or the regular meat section at your store??

Any idea how we can convince one Costco or another to carry some of the organic items that other Costco warehouses carry? For example, I imagine this area would buy a LOT of organic produce if more were available. Our nearest Whole Foods is 40 minutes away and Costco is only 10 so that would be HUGE!

They're in the frozen section. Not with all the frozen plain chicken breasts, but more in the special meat section-- frozen stuffed chicken breasts, etc.

fill out a suggestion form. they take their suggestion box very seriously. i keep meaning to grab a bunch of the papers to bring home so i can right ideas down when ever i think of them. at the costco i go to the suggestion box is on the way out - after you pay, but before you show them your receipt. you can also email them through their website.

I was there today and noticed tons of organic products. It's been about a year since we've been there and I was happily surprised. Here's a list of some of the things I saw that were organic, please add anything I missed!

2% milk
apples
peanut butter (all natural, no sugar added)
spaghetti sauce
frozen mixed veggies
frozen corn
frozen green beans
frozen blueberries
stick butter
frozen pizza
eggs (free range, brown)
applesauce (no sugar added)
broth

I'm so excited! Anything else I missed?
