I am really stuck. My favorite so far is Natalie, but our last name is Ritchey and I am really having a hard time with the two names ending in the "e" sound. Please help me out with your vote. Something that sounds cute with Nicholas is also a bonus.

i love anna kate, but natalie has always been one of my favorites too. i personally have always liked lia or leah as a nick-name for natalie. if you liked that, it might solve your ending in "e" problem.

Ooooh, Anna Kate is so sweet! I love it. I do like the name Natalie, but I'm not sure it flows all that great with Ritchey.

How about Natalia, rather than Natalie?

I actually really like Natalie Ritchey - I think it is very catchy. It makes me think of a famous person. No, not Nicole Ritchie, just with the name being so fun and easy to remember, it should be famous! LOL I also like Alexandra, but Natalie is a cute, bubbly name. Now if you are not going for "bubbly" "catchy" or "cute", then I'd skip it, but it's my personal fave of the three.... :)

Edited to add: your DS is Nick, right? Even better! Natalie and Nick! Soooo cute!

What about Natalia? I have always wanted to name my potential DD that name - yet I keep having DSs, LOL. I can live vicariously through you ;)

I LOVE the name Natalie - I would have used it in a second if our last name didn't end with a 'lee' sound. I agree that it doesn't work great with Ritchey. Anna and Alexandra are wonderful names - I think either one is adorable!!

How much does the two names ending in "e" really bug you?

I wanted to name DD Nicole but it sounded too much like Nickelodeon with my last name. I still really like that name.

I have always liked the name, Natalie and call her 'Tallie'.
(rhymes with Callie)

I've always really liked Natasha, then you could call her Natalie. Of the three I like Natalie the best.

I'm no help. I like them all...three pretty names. The two names ending in E doesn't "bother" me at all.

Thank you everyone for yout feedback. Maybe I have just not come across the "right" name for her yet. Nick was not named until maybe a week after we brought him home. And then only because of my mother's constant insistance that I pick a name for this child. I had been holding out for Gabe but my husband would not hear of it. At that time I though naming a girl must be so much easier but that certainly is not turning out to be true for me. I am very bothered my the thouight that I might not have a name that I really love AND that goes with our last name before this baby comes. God knows the right name will not be coming to me in the hospital (last time I did not sleep for 4 days). THanks all for listening and helping!

Ooh, I like this option. Natasha Ritchey flows really nicely. That said, I really do like the name Natalie best of the three. And I love the nickname Talia. You could also consider Sasha (another one of my favorite names in the same vein--if my cousin-in-law was not named Sasha, I would have considered that for DD).

And although I do like Anna Kate, I don't think it flows well with Ritchey. Alexandra Ritchey seems too much of a mouthful.

Susan, Just another thought on the name Natalie...I love the name and almost used it except my husband pronounced it "Nat-lee" without the "a" sylable in the middle and it horrified me...I don't know if mispronounciation would bother you, but it did me.

I like the name "Natalie", although I might like "Natalia" better ...

One thing to note about "Alexandra" - it's DD's middle name, and everyone (including her own dad!) says "Alexandria". I briefly considered naming her "Alexandra" and now I'm so glad I didn't because it would drive me nuts. (At least with Brittany the worst anyone really does is spell it wrong.)

None of these are doing it for me. How about Carla/Karla? I think it sounds nice with your last name. Or how about Nora? Nick and Nora go well together. :)

Actually, Kaya was not named until 24-36 hours after she was born. I don't remember if "Kaya" was on the short list ("Maya" was), but we had brought a short list of 10, then 3 names with us to the hospital, plus the baby name book so we could look up the names again with their meanings and such. It's all such a blur now, but I'm not 100% positive that "Kaya" was on the list of 3 or even 10 names. I have discarded the list so there's no way to tell. But somehow, after seeing her the name just seemed to be the perfect name for her. :) (Her middle name was my MIL's name and we did know we wanted that as her middle name before we got to the hospital. So it was a matter of finding a good name that went with the middle and last name and had a good meaning for us.)

We have friends who named their daughter "Nell" - I thought that was elegant and sweet. And an unusual "n" name for you.... Or "Nina" or "Trina" -
