I realize I'm an outsider but thanks (x 1000) for the advice, help and support I've been given.

My nephews have "better" toys (ha! meaning I spend more now), know the best books at the library, enjoy an excellent playdough recipe (thanks daisymommy!!), love their Signing Time and on and on.

Yes, of course I realize that some people don't understand why I would post here. That's fine, thanks for bypassing me and letting me ask anyway.

Now onto big and better things; figuring out which new combination carseat to buy and what present I should get the younger one for his second birthday. (I have now been through every barclay blocks post on the boards.) :-)

Erin,
Every time you refer to yourself as an outsider (okay, maybe I haven't seen it that much, but maybe once besides today) it seriously breaks my heart.
You are a caring, thoughtful, important, beloved, well "spoken" and MUCH WELCOME member. "Simply" raising a child does not confer such qualities on a person; becoming a mom didn't give me a special power. I'm sure I am not alone in thinking this.
Thanks for all you bring here.

ps- Welcome to the 1000 club! :)

Happy 1000!
=)

ETA: I think there is a quiet majority who does not think of te aunties and grandmas and assorted others who care about the children in their lives as outsiders. Don't let the vocal minority get to you.

I don't understand why you are feeling as an outsider. How can you be an outsider with that many posts is beyond me. I have a quarter less posts than you do and by no means I feel that way. Just because you have not given birth to these two adorable boys? PP on this board have been really generous with their time and knowledge, Hope you feel welcome here now that you are in a 1000+ club :). It's a Baby Bargains board, not mommy bargains or anything.

Congratulations Darby! An outsider? Never! The care and love you show your nephews and lots of the babies here are inspiring. Just because I happen to have a daughter it certainly didn't automatically make me special. We love having you here and consider you one of our own!

Wishing you another 1000 posts! :)

With 1000 posts, you are hardly an outsider!

Congratulations Erin,

I am just above 400 and i still feel like i am a part of this community. I think that anyone who cares as much about their nephews as you do is deffinitly a part of this community.

Avi also has tons more toys and clothing- and anything random that i see that looks fun- than he would if i was not a part of his life LOL!

BTW could i get that playdough recipe?

I didn't meant for it to come across like it did, of course. I do feel like part of the community, I also know that I'm not a mother and therefore try not to step over the boundaries I've set for myself.

Thanks again, you guys are great! :D

forgot to add; I promise not to bring "outsider" up again. :)

It's Amy's (daisymommy) kool-aid playdough that I've made. My nephew loves (and I mean *loves*) it! He spent an hour and a half at my table on Tuesday making "bue paydoh pizza" as he called it :-)

I hope you and Avi have fun! Here is the link;

On a personal note, your nephews are soooo lucky. I wish my kids had an amazing and caring aunt just like you :)
