Preschool cost

We decided to have Nathan go to a montessori preschool for 2 mornings a week next fall. It is a 2/3 yr old program and they dont have to be fully potty trained. I was wondering what everyone else pays per/ month.

Ours is going to run 153 for a 2 morning a week program.


The 2007 preschool year we will probably switch to a church based program that my older sons attended that will run about 90 for a 2 morning a week program.

DS will be going to a church based preschool program for 3 mornings/week next fall. It's around $3000 for 9 months so that would come out to be around $333/month.

Our Montessori toddler program (what Nathan is doing) is $175 per month for 2 days a week and $255 for 3 days a week. The 5 day preprimary program (ages 3-6) is $370.

This is in suburban Chicago.

DD goes to a preschool that is more Waldorf style. Next year she will be going 3 times a week, 2 1/2 hrs each day and tuition is $205/month with a $200 registration fee.

I'm just signing DD up for summer for 2 mornings a week. It's $105pm. The other one I looked at was $100pm or $145 for 3 days a week. Both are church based.

We pay $170 for 2 days a week from 9-11:30 at a private preschool.

We pay $4500/year or approx. $500/month for my almost 3-year-olds toddler preschool. There are 12 children with 2 teachers. He goes 3 mornings/week from 9-12:30. And we are in suburban Boston.

Great timing for your question - the Montessori school (located w/in walking distance in our neighborhood) is $3500 for nine months for 5 1/2 day sessions (mornings). That makes it $350 for the month. I thought this was expensive but based on the other postings, not a bad price. Maybe I can tell DH all of this and he will understand more?

My DD is in a montessori program and attends the "Toddler House" 3 full days per week 8:15am-3:00pm for 262.00/month. We live in NC.

DD attends daycare 5 days/week 9-10 hours/day (depending on who's picking up) at an employer sponsored center managed by Bright Horizons. Her *tuition* is $170/week ($680/month) at the infant/toddler rate. Since this is an employer subsidized center, I am really not sure what the actual going rate is for daycare/pre-school my area.

DS goes to a church based program 3x a week, 9-1pm and it is $229 per month. The program this year runs from August until the first week in June. Next year, he will attend the Pre-K program at our YMCA and it will be $269 per month for 5 days a week, 9:15-12:15pm with lunch bunch once a week. Since the school calendar has changed, that will start in Septemner and let out mid June. If I kept DS where he is now, it would be $369 for 5 days.

We are in the Raleigh-Durham, NC area.

My DD attendes 2 mornings a week montessori toddler program. We pay $140/month.

DS isn't in preschool yet due to PT issues though the one I am looking at is 300$ for two half days pm (also in the Bay Area). There is a cheaper option that I am considering for the interim at 300$ for two full days a month.

We pay $65 a month for a 2 day a week, 9-11:30 am Moms Morning Out program, but that is not preschool. DS will be going to a church-based preschool in September that costs $105 a month for 2 mornings a week.

The two programs we are currently looking into for next year are:

Waldorf School nursery, 2 mornings/week ~$500/month (Sept-June)

A co-op, 3 mornings/week ~$350/month (Sept-July)

I'll be looking at a more "traditional" (non-waldorf, non-co-op) for comparison, too.
