I just wanted to say thanks to all of you who recommended the Adagio tea site in previous tea threads. I got my ingenuiTEA earlier this week and am loving it! That tea pot is ingenious! (And the teas are great too! ;) )

Isn't it great? I've been using the same one at work for seven years now. One warning: do not touch the bottom between pouring the water into the top and releasing it into the cup (e.g. when carrying it around the kitchen) -- it can discharge water accidentally onto your hand. I only did that twice (OK, I was too slow to learn from the first time :) ).

I think thanks to Saccade and the other tea junkies here Addagio has received quite a bit of new business this past week!!

I must praise their fast service: I placed my order on Friday, got the cheap-o shipping (Of course!), and I had it on my dorrstep the next day. I know they're just a state away, but still.

My entire family is now enjoying assorted flavors of white tea, each morning...I have a little to-go mug filling production line going :)

Yeah, my DH almost did that when he saw it for the first time. Picked it up right after I'd poured the hot water in it and started to fiddle with the bottom. Needless to say he got one of my "no, no, NO! Don't touch that!" commands that are usually reserved for my toddler. :P (I honestly don't know who's worse about playing with things, him or my DD.)

Out of curiousity, how often have you needed to replace the filter over the seven years?

I didn't see anything that said they needed to be replaced, I just saw they had replacement filters available when I ordered. Maybe they're for people that lose the original or something? I won't bother ordering replacements to have on hand then, if yours has lasted seven years! ;)

Yes!

I've been staying up late working, and needing the caffeine in the morning, after years of being good...

I'm loving the teas! I think we're going to place another order, too, just because 7 samples weren't enough! :)

The IngenuiTEA is a great intro to loose teas. It's sooooo easy. And I'm amazed at how much better the tea tastes! (Reminds me of when DH switched to whole beans AND a French press for coffee...)

Whew! I was worried there that I had committed a filter faux pas!

Isn't that an awesome teapot? We use it almost every day (several times a day since I got this yucky cold) and really love it! I didn't realize you could change the filter, but I think I would change it if it accidentally got ripped. Not too likely to happen unless a toddler gets her hands on it and sticks things in it that are not meant to be in it. ;)

I haven't tried their loose teas yet, although one of my favorite brands is "In Pursuit of Tea". Next time I need more teas, I'll take a look at the Adagio site. Our local tea shop is so handy, though, so even though we probably pay more, I really love going there. They're so nice about recommending different teas to try or to help us figure out what it is we're looking for. :)

Another question about the IngenuiTea... what is the secret to cleaning out the used leaves? I have had mine for a month or so and love the tea it makes, but I hate cleaning out the leaves. I saw some posts saying some people just rinse it down the disposal, but what do you do if you don't have a disposal? Is it ok to just dump out most of the leaves into the garbage and then rinse the rest down the regular sink drain? (heehee I hope so because that's what I've been doing!) Anybody discover a quick and easy way to clean the IngenuiTea??

TIA and sorry for dredging up an oooooold thread! :)

I have no disposal, and that's exactly what I do with my regular tea-basket (also courtesy of Saccade - thank you thank you thank you!)
