Mine is short! I am still pregnant.

Today's appointment went well, 1 cm dilated, 30-40% effaced. They want to see me on Thursday again, for another NST and we can discuss further what to do then. My midwife did strip my membranes so hopefully that will help things along a but. It is almost three weeks since I have been off the medication so hopefully I will go into labor really soon! According to Dr. I was due last Friday, but baby is doing just fine so I am not inclined to be induced. ;)

Hopefully we will have babe in arms soon. How are the other moms doing?

Good luck, Christy! I was just thinking about you. Can't wait to hear your birth story, hopefully sometime soon!

I am still pregnant, too. Coming up on 36 weeks, and mild panic is starting to set in. I still have a ton of things to do, but I'm physically ready to be done with this pregnancy. Ugh, I had no idea the last couple of months would be so taxing on the body! I'm also alternating between being confident about this birth and being absolutely terrified. I soooooo want to have a drug-free birth, but I'm afraid I won't be able to handle the pain. I really have to focus on RELAXING!

Hoping all the other preggo mamas are doing well!

Christy, best of luck to you! Can't wait to hear about Little Man and I hope you don't have to be induced. Lots of labor vibes coming your way, mama!

ETA: Erica, you can TOTALLY have a natural delivery if you want to. I had one and I'm a complete wimp when it comes to pain. And if you get in there and decide that you don't want a natural birth, that's okay too. Just wanted to send ya some support!

Good Luck Christy!!! Ive been noticing your days ticking down on the other posts and wanted to send you a message. Im glad you dont have to be induced. Im thinking positive thoughts for you.
Im really scared about possibly being induced too. Ive heard some stories. I am 32 weeks pregnant and doing great. I dont have a checkup for a couple of weeks. But everything has been good so far. I was also wanting to do the drug free thing...so I'll have to keep my fingers crossed on that one too. Good Luck!!! Hope to hear a happy update soon.

Take care,
Denna

Yup, 35 weeks today. Still here; still pregnant. I've taken myself off of bedrest (contraction scare at 30 weeks)to try and get things moving as the discomfort factor is getting pretty hard to stomach. Of course, as others have said, I vasciallte between "I have so much still to do!" and "get these babies out of me!" on a minute-minute basis. Occasionally throwing in a "what was I thinking?" when I realize that I've going to give birth in a country and language not my own.

To all those late preggo Mamas, hang in there. You're in the home strecth now!

Well good luck to you, too. You sound really uncomfortable, and indecisive. I guess that's pregnancy =). So I noticed you said in a different country. Which country are you in? Im in Italy and not to excited about giving birth to my first child here and being all alone.

Wish you the best...

Aww, thanks for the support, Erica! Fellow pain wimp here, too. :( I'm so happy that you had the natural delivery you wanted. Hopefully, I can follow in your footsteps.

I have a high tolerance for pain, but totally agree with Erica (mommy_someday). And if you are educated (played a huge factor for me) and you know what you want then you will get it. It is amazing what your body can do.

I wouldn't change my experience birthing DD with no pain meds in the water one bit. I can only hope that I am lucky again this time around.

Talk to your Dr. beforehand about what you want too. I found having a birth plan (putting my wishes and wants in writing) was sooo helpful for my midwives and my L&D nurse (on my second visit) and they actually read it! It helped me to put it in writing too; I am a list maker though. ;)

Try not to be too nervous, whatever the outcome of delivery a healthy baby is what you are shooting for!! I am so excited for you both!!

Thanks for sharing your birthplan, Christy. It was very helpful to see all the major points listed clearly and succinctly. I think I will use yours as a template to create mine, if you don't mind.

>healthy baby is what you are shooting for!!

That is great advice to keep in mind!!!

Another one who is still here. My Dr. was talking induction at my appointment yesterday if I have not delivered by 41 weeks. I really want to go natural, so please send me "no induction" vibes. I am 1 cm dialated and fully effaced. I just can't believe the end is so close (hopefully). Good luck to all the other mammas!

Edited for grammar

I don't think "little" is quite the word for my friend's girl! 11 lbs, 13 oz & 23" long!

Here's hoping we deliver soon! :) I'm pretty comfortable but getting very anxious. Last time, my water broke without any contractions, and I had to get them going (walked stairs, breastpump, lots of fun things like that), so I've never just "gone into labor". I don't really know what to expect. I tried to get things going on Sunday, to no avail.

Hmmm... maybe I need to make an important appointment or similar? that way I'd be sure to go into labor the same day, right?

UPDATE ON 3/1: I had an u/s this morning and it is definitely a girl. I can finally cut the tags off those pink things! She is head down and the doc estimates that she is 7 pounds, 8 ounces now at 35.5 weeks! I am scheduled for a repeat c/s on 3/21 and I am guessing she will be at least 9 pounds by then. If I went all the way to or past 40 weeks, I imagine she might rival her brother's birth weight.
-----
Thanks for asking. Three weeks left for me! I'm scheduled for a repeat c/s on March 21. I have another u/s tomorrow to check on size and position, since my DS was over 10 pounds. My OB set this up months ago in case I wanted to try VBAC and we are sticking with the appointment even though we're pretty much set on a repeat c/s at this point. The OB was pretty sure she had switched to head-down last week and I think he is right, but we'll see tomorrow. I guess it doesn't matter if I am having a c/s anyway. I am anxious to get another look at this baby, even though I think she will be pretty squished at this point. I haven't taken the tags off anything pink yet, so I'd like the doctor to confirm that he was right about gender at the 22-week u/s. ;)

My pants won't stay up (darned under-the-belly styles!) and I am feeling pretty darned large but I have had two pretty easy pregnancies, so I consider myself lucky. I am getting winded on short walks though. I've been displaced from my office for a week and a half by water damage from a burst pipe and as I find various places to park myself between meetings and pick up a wireless connection, I am getting tired! Right now I am in the Special Collections Library at the university where I work. A nice spot, but I should have taken the elevator up instead of the stairs. ;)

My house is a wreck and we don't have DS's big boy room ready yet, so the baby's things are not all put away in the nursery. Oh well. I guess it is about time to get DH to get the cradle, bouncy seat, and swing out of the attic. I cannot believe how quickly this pregnancy has gone by!!!

Germany. I am excited about giving birth here because the options are significantly more friendly, as is the post-natal care. But the idea of actually being in the delivery room trying to remember a foreign grammar is a little intimidating.

Italy? Wow. forget the birth, it's everything outside the delivery room that makes it worthwhile, no?

No, not a small girl by any stretch of the word!

Yes, an important appointment sounds like a good plan.

I have been delaying washing the infant car seat cover for a while. It is in the washer right now so hopefully I will start having contractions shortly so it won't have enough time to line dry! ;)

Black Kohosh and Evening Primrose Oil don't seem to be working. Neither is Lori's suggestion. :P Spicy didn't work either. :9

Sigh, I wish my Dr.'s midwives had more patience! And heck I would take a good dose of it myself! LOL!

I'm 28 weeks today and other than possibly having too much amniotic fluid, I'm doing well. I've had a very easy pregnancy so far and haven't gained the weight that I did with DS.

I've been buying stuff like crazy though! It's a lot of fun :). Now if we could just dig out the room and start to get that ready!

I hope you have your baby soon, Christy!

It depends. If you have the time to travel Im sure it would. My husband and I are very busy we work alot and we are both in school to finish our degrees. Working full time, being pregnant, and in school is a busy busy time for us.
<Germany> Thats awesome though. My DH and I really enjoy Germany. And the medical centers are so much more advanced. Best wishes and best of luck to you.
Oh and something I was told about Germany, if your having a girl. One of my good friends was born in Germany (early 80's) and her ears were pierced at birth. Her mother was SOO MAD they didnt even ask her they just pierced her ears. Im not sure if they still do that but just a lil heads up.

Good Luck and Best Wishes!!! Keep us updated!!!

I love reading all of these. I actually had no idea how many weeks I was until I read Kris's. I must be almost 28 weeks as I am due 5/27. This is so different than when I was pregnant with Billy as I knew exactly how many days pregnant I was, now I just say I'm due the end of May.

I've been really lucky this has been an easy pregnancy for me. I've started getting a little light-headed and woozy in the mornings until I eat something but that is manageable.

I can't believe how fast this pregnancy is going by. We closed on our new house yesterday and are in the process of moving so that is what is occupying all our thoughts and time. Billy's new bed is getting delivered today and we have his new sheets all washed and ready to go. He is so excited.

He can't wait for the baby to come either. He says that as soon as the baby comes he is going to teach him to play hopscoth and eat pizza :) So we have been talking alot about what babies can and can't do at first.

I really haven't thought about the actual birth but that is starting to creep in there now.

Good luck to all you mamas having your babies soon. I can't wait to hear the stories :)

I had my dr. appointment yesterday. Everything is looking great! I am 13 weeks and totally amazed at how fast this is going. We had an US (First Screen) and I am pretty sure I saw little boy parts. I was right with both the other boys so I am thinking that I am sure of what I saw. US tech wouldn't tell me anything because they don't want to be held liable this early. Like I am going to sue because she was wrong. :) We did get a pretty clear view and unless it was a cord it looks like a boy. Three boys will be enough for me. At least I can avoid the temptation to buy pink and do a pretty pink nursery. If I am wrong I will be pleasently surprised. :)

I can't believe we are about to have so many new babies here. It seems like everyone is ready to pop in the next month!

How did the first night in a big boy bed go? It is such a big step for a little guy! Jackson was so excited about his new bed. When we moved him out of the crib was when it really hit home that Tyler was on the way. I was so sad that I was taking the crib away from him but he handled it just fine.

Good luck to all of you who are about to deliver! So exciting!

I am almost 28 weeks (seems there are several of us at the same stage). It is going super-fast this time. I feel bigger this time around, and I am having inner upper thigh pains that I posted about a few weeks ago. Otherwise, things are going pretty well. It is exhausting to be pregnant and taking care of a toddler all day, though!
