swingsets?

We're thinking of getting the girls a swing set. Does anyone have brands the like / don't like? how long do kids play with them? My friend has a 4 yo DD and 7 yo DS, and said her kids are no longer interessted in a swingset now. If I bought a swingset when the girls turn 4, would they get enough years out of it?

How are they to set up? What do you use underneath? mulch? pea gravel?

Susan-There have been several threads over in Around the House recently about swingsets that you might find helpful-hot topic this time of year!

FTR, we have a Cedarworks set we love and my 4 yo still plays on it every chance he gets, as does my almost 2yo. We have pea gravel under the set, which has added greatly to the play value as they are constantly digging and using their trucks to load and unload the gravel.

that's a great idea about the pea gravel and trucks! The girls love their dump trucks. I'll check out around the house.
